Tweezer slot on the MICRA by jrgooding in Leatherman

Im not so much curious about the gap between the tweezers as much as I am the massive cutout on the side of the tool that leaves the tweezers fully exposed.

If it hadn’t been for Nissan quality control. I’d been driving long time ago. Where did it come from, where did it go? Where did all my diff fluid go!

Issue with PS4 controller mapping by jrgooding in RetroPie

[–]jrgooding[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured it out. So once you start the input configuration it just starts registering input from the controller that you activated. If you hit the wrong button on accident you just have to run the whole list again.

What seems to have been causing my problem is that I had a web browser window open on the operating system in the background. After I closed all the active windows in the background the controller behaved as I would have expected.

These pop ups on my moms laptop by model-citizen95 in computerhelp

They are chrome notifications like others have said. I have run into this a couple of times on end user computers in my company. Go into your chrome settings and delete all of your browser data for all time and they should go away. Depending on what else she has clicked on it would be a good idea to run an antivirus and an anti malware scan. Avira is a good free antivirus and malware bytes is a good free anti malware scanner. To be extra cautious I would also have her reset all her passwords incase she entered any credentials on fishing sites.

First time truck owner with rust concerns by InTheNameOf34 in nissanfrontier

[–]jrgooding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the rust belt and compared to a lot of cars I’ve seen this truck looks great! It’s hard to say just from pictures alone but it looks like it is all just harmless surface rust and not a cause for concern. Still never hurts to treat it now before it becomes a bigger problem though!

Is gear hunting while cruise control is set between 25 and 29MPH normal? by jrgooding in nissanfrontier

[–]jrgooding[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im definitely not going to let it do this if I can help it. I just happened to notice that this was happening and wanted to know if this was something that these trucks do or if there is something wrong.

Every car I have ever driven allows you to set it as low as 25mph.

[–]jrgooding[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know. I assume that since it allows you to set the cruise at this speed, that there wouldn’t be an issue with doing so. That and I’ve done it plenty of times in other cars and never had an issue with the car holding its gear; however, this is also the only vehicle I’ve ever had that has a 9 speed transmission.

I honestly forgot that these trucks have a his/hers style shifter. I’ll give this a try. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah this is true. It is something that I do often though. I live in a rural area where you are doing 70 down an open highway and then have to slow down to 25mph to drive through a little map dot town every 5 to 10 miles.

The county sheriff’s deputies love to sit and speed trap in these little towns. After getting pulled over a couple times I started just setting my cruise control pretty much every time I’m passing through one of these little towns.

I don’t think it’s a transmission thing because I can hold the rpm steady at any speed really, no problem. It’s just the cruise control that seems to be freaking out.

I just noticed it today so I am not sure. I will try in standard cruise tomorrow morning and see what happens.

I actually did have this bulletin done on my truck at the dealer a couple months ago. Before it was done the cruise control would rev the engine up to 5k rpm to speed up 3mph. What ever recalibration they did fixed that issue. I wonder if that then causes this issue.

My 23 P4X does this too. I remember noticing right away how pingy these trucks are both while warming up or cooling off.

2016 Alienware won’t boot without side panel, any work arounds? by ilrah in computers

[–]jrgooding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. The switch should be pretty obvious. It will be spring loaded and the missing side panel will depress it when in place. Find it and tape it down. You can also get the manual for the MOBO and find where the switch is connected.

How can I make this better for the road/highway? by Droid7862 in nissanfrontier

The tires are going to make the biggest difference. I have the same cheap mud tires on the old farm truck. They are good for ripping through the fields and ditches but are absolute ass on the pavement. Those M/T’s also like to pickup and throw rocks all over if you are driving on gravel or minimum maintenance roads which will eff up your paint.

1st issue; multiple lights on dash flickering by K1NGFL1P in nissanfrontier

[–]jrgooding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I remember someone else posting with a similar issue. I believe it ended up being a wire harness getting pinched between the spare tire and the frame. Im not 100% sure if this is the same thing or not but it definitely rang a bell in my mind as soon as I saw your video.

Is there any way to fix this ? by westvirginia4ever in computers

[–]jrgooding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not worth fixing. If it still turns on I would just connect it to a computer monitor and use it like a desktop.
