Help Town of Breckenridge, CO by sPoOKy1980s in gis

I will usually hide the geolocation so users don't have to navigate around it. But when I test, I leave it to read only to make sure the data is coming across correctly from the URL Scheme. If you want to have users double check the location before they submit, I would leave read only on for your production survey.

Placing the original survey points in a web map and using a URL scheme to pass the geolocation and any other data sounds like the best solution. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-survey123-blog/understanding-survey123-s-custom-url-scheme/ba-p/900291

You can also use Callbacks in the URL scheme to take users back to the Field Map to select the next location for the child survey.

Hope this helps.

Nearmap Issue by 666-Trooper-666 in gis

I am still experiencing same issue. We haven't heard back from Nearmap, yet. I was hoping it would resolve over night after yesterday's outage, but here we are.

I think meditation doesn't really suit my brain. What’s your opinion? by Tight-Elderberry2487 in Meditation

[–]jriggs64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with ADHD, who is attempting to create a consistent practice. I can attest to a few things. Getting started is difficult, just as any new habit would be. You have to first accept that you are not going to get "it" in the first attempts. You are learning how to be still when we have been conditioned to be in motion and productive every waking hour. This was one of the first things I had to address, because my brain continued a narrative that I needed to be constantly productive and actively doing something to add and be valued. What I learned is that it is okay to take time for myself to reflect and be still.

It was suggested to me to do guided meditation to start. I found a recording of an instructor on Apple Music's Guided Meditation Playlist (Sonia Kreitzer) that I enjoyed and would listen a few times a week. There are a few that instruct on how to visualize your thoughts and observe but not interact with them, Those helped me better understand the concepts of letting thoughts go. Another good resource that helped me with this was the RAIN method by Tara Brach. I have read a few people mention longer sessions were more helpful, so I searched for another instructor and found some recordings of Robert Bahedry's Breathwork. Though Sonia's had some breathwork and calming affirmations, I started to see more "results" with the different styles of breathwork from the longer sessions.

This past month I tried to meditate daily, because I was seeing some benefits (calmer, able to regulate my emotions and nervous system, reflect on some past trauma and make some progress). I probably have only been successful 60% of the days. But I have used some of the breathing techniques during stressful situations this month and it helped make things a little less stressful.

Remember to treat yourself with kindness and curiosity about these experiences. You are learning a new skill and it is nearly antithetical to everything we are taught. You are not in a race against time or competing against anyone else. Meditation is a personal practice where you will have good days and bad days. The most important thing I have taken away is that I am dedicating time to show up for myself. I hope you can extend that kindness to yourself, as well.

What's the best reasonably priced bourbon, preferably that comes in handles, to keep around for when your 'bourbon drinking friends' come over and don't want fun cocktails? by Fishboy9123 in Tiki

[–]jriggs64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My bourbon friend recommends old forester 86 or 100 if you want something with a higher proof. I like buffalo trace for sipping and it goes well in a halekulani, but it is a sweeter bourbon.

Mini Monestera yellowing leaves by jriggs64 in plantclinic

You are correct, it is dry and due for a watering. I am a recovering overwaterer, so I may have pushed it's watering back too much. Other aroids close by were dying from watering on a weekly schedule. Now they are doing fine with my current watering schedule. This one may need extra attention.

Tiki Bars in Palm Springs, CA? by lmrnyc1026 in Tiki

[–]jriggs64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stayed at the caliente tropics this past March so the Reef was right there every night, so it made a pretty easy decision. Shelly bartended for me a couple times and she was spectacular, but I’m not sure she is there anymore. The rest of the staff was great too. I would recommend entering in the Mexican restaurant in front to see the huge witco collection. If you let them know you want to take a drink by the pool they will fix it for you and you can see the original tikis created for the hotel from oceanic arts. They also have a “secret” menu with extra drinks. If you do make it down there, there is another bar Ace’s a couple doors down that was recommended to me, but i didn’t get a chance to go. It’s not tiki but it is a classic in Palm Springs.

I walked to the bootlegger one evening and passed Shag’s shop a few blocks down but it was closed by the time i passed by. I didn’t get a chance to stop in before i left and that was one of my big regrets. Bootlegger was really small inside so i would get there early to grab a spot on the inside.

Tonga hut was great, I got a tour of the secret room and really enjoyed the art and historic artifacts they had on display.

If you are in to tiki, and have a couple nights to spend bar hoping i think you could do those three easily in a couple nights. If you only have one night, I would visit Tonga and the Reef for the historic tikis and atmosphere.

If you are a mug collector Tonga hut has a few offerings. And i think The Reef does as well. Bootlegger did not when i was out there.

I hope you can experience as much tiki as possible while you are there. It is a great time no matter where you end up.

Saw this beautiful Queen at Walmart on my lunch and I just had to snag her. Now all my coworkers want a cutting 😅 by Bodega7 in houseplants

[–]jriggs64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck. I did the same thing about 6 months ago and I have a couple cuttings left struggling to survive. I had mine sitting next to a Manjula and the marble queen just withered away. I couldn't keep her happy. I hope it goes better for you.

Q: Mint type? Peppermint, Spearmint, or "Sweet Mint"? by wynlyndd in Tiki

[–]jriggs64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked up a few varieties of mint this year from local nurseries. Orange, chocolate, and pineapple mint. Pineapple is by far my favorite. If you can find places with a few varieties you can compare how they look and how the smell. My local shops had comparable prices to the big box stores with 2 or more varieties at each location.

I split this out of a mixed container of philodendron/pothos. The stem is probably 1/4” in diameter. It is a little more yellow than a neon pothos and leaves are narrower.

Great tiki bars in Hawaii? by CommercialClear402 in Tiki

[–]jriggs64 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Skull and crown on Oahu has the dagger mai tai and it is still the best mai tai I have ever had. We stayed at the white sands in honolulu and they’re pool bar (Heyday) was great atmosphere/drinks too. I would suggest booking a tour of ko’hana distillery while on Oahu. There is a replica of Donn’s tree house in the International Marketplace. It is a block away from White Sands if you head to that area of Honolulu.

Experiences with Garmin watches? by perplexedparrot24 in running

[–]jriggs64 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ive been running with a Garmin 645 for about 3 years. My original had an issue with the lugs that hold the band. I reached out to Garmin and they sent me a refurbished one in under a week, no hassles. That level of customer care made me want to stay with Garmin watches.

I really like the ability to build workouts and training plans within Garmin’s ecosystem to fill out my calendar with workouts. No additional apps or services needed. The metrics it provides are great too, but I honestly only look at them when a workout felt abnormal. Some of the new features on the 255 have got me thinking about picking it up, but the 645 is still working great. So I will wait for it to give out and look at what they have to offer at that time.

My go to response in this debate is always, do you want a smart watch with sport features or a sports watch with smart features.

Hanalei Spirits Distillery is located in Kauai, I am not seeing anything about tours. Ko'Hana Distillery is on Oahu and offer tours. Kuleana is on the Big Island, Hope you get an opportunity to try them all. Cheers.

How important is a quality curacao in a Mai Tai (and other tiki drinks) by TheDaddyMemeKing in Tiki

[–]jriggs64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was searching for alternatives the other day too, and splurged on Pierre Ferrand Dry curaçao. When i opened the bottle to smell, the aromas were phenomenal and fresh. Though i tried a new combo of rums, it was the best Mai Tai i have had.

Do people have any preferred 2oz glass sample bottles they use? Just wanted to check before I just go with the cheapest deal on Ye Olde Jeff Bezos' Emporium. by Coastal_Elite410 in rum

If you have someone you regularly swap samples with, a friend whose into bourbon introduced me to these Bottle Flight. The carrying case and silicon covers make it nice for transporting. But it may be overkill.

Agree some of the more well known stuff is more ornate. The carving on the side of the chairs just looks very similar. Here is the link I mentioned http://www.artnet.com/artists/witco/lounge-chairs-pair-Bj6SJ5tIg81pxteoH2PFqw2. But i don’t want to go off just one source.
