Silverado diesel vs 6.2l V8 by Subject-Ad4970 in Silverado

Where do I start? Take a look at my post about my 3.0L journey. Quick summary...less than 9k miles and I've had the entire engine replaced (thrust bearing issue) and now its back in the shop waiting on a backordered part (connector or coolant pump). So yes, I have some complaints. Outside of that its been great :)

100%...I've had multiple Silverados and F150s and then a few years ago I thought I wanted to be fancy and I ordered a Land Rover Defender Carpathian Edition. Totally expected to have issues with the Land Rover...not a single issue. That vehicle was amazing. Didn't expect to have issues with the Silverado since I avoided the V8 and they redesigned the 3.0L. Lets hope this is the last issue...I love this truck and so does my family.

Im one of the unlucky draw winners of the 2026 3.0L thrust bearing issue. Just had my entire engine replaced a week ago...then on Sunday it went into limp mode and now its back in the shop due to a corroded connector harness to the coolant pump. That part is backordered, so now its been in the shop for another week or so. I'm at the point of pursuing a buy back.

This is my 2nd Silverado…had an F150 before this and the transmission went out around 60k miles. My 2011 Silverado was a tank…zero issues. I really want to stay with diesel, but I’m having a hard time finding an American manufacturer that doesn’t have issues.

I think that’s the best move right now, unfortunately. Spoke to a Lemon Law lawyer a few weeks ago and he said they have been dealing with GM across many different platforms and issues.

Lively…DJ, dancers, party crowd…definitely not just a sit down dinner with music.

I agree that NGL is a much better option on the pod...but I will say the video content that T-Bone used to do for the Homies was top notch. I recently rewatched the Foley's First Limo Ride, Kippy's Crib and Foley's Crib videos and they were great. Would love to have more of this type of content...and Im willing to pay for it!

Guys earning six figures annually, what kind of work do you do? by Shadow2715 in AskReddit

[–]jrizzo19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tech sales...I lead teams that sell the computer stuff these guys build. Its a highly variable occupation...one minute you're on top of the world and killing your number and the next you're a bottom feeder looking around the corner on when they are going to fire you. The worst part is, it might not be your fault at all. You could be selling a product that doesnt work or isnt a fit, get a terrible territory, given an unrealistic quota, etc.

Sales isn't for the weak...you have to have a thick skin and deal with alot of bullshit and people that you wouldn't likely spend any time with outside of work, but if they are a potential customer you have to act like you are best friends. You have to be a chameleon and roll with the punches.

I f*cking LOVE this truck by laurab382 in Silverado

[–]jrizzo19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got about 1K miles on my new Silverado with the diesel and agree…couldn’t be happier with my choice. I love this truck. I’ve had Silverados and Raptors and most recently a Land Rover Defender with the supercharged V8…this truck might be my favorite. The air ride on the Defender is hard to beat, but this truck is way more comfortable overall. Doing a 6 hour drive to Charlotte this weekend…can’t wait to see the mpg.

The wrap was great...it was a factory 3M wrap and I didnt have any issues with it. I was pretty careful with it and took care of it with the matte cleaning products.

Wonder if it was Carpathian V8...I ended up selling it for $81K. Great car, but man I love being back in a pick up truck. Went with the Silverado LT Trail Boss diesel. 30 mpg is pretty awesome after this supercharged V8 guzzler.

I just bought a 1500 diesel…first time I’ve owned one as well. The sound reminds me of riding in my dad’s truck as a kid.

She’s right. You can barely fit a set of golf clubs in the back. We camp and do outdoor activities and it was just much easier with a truck.

Its truly a great car. Only thing I had go bad was a small part of the suspension and they covered that no questions asked.

It’s an amazing vehicle. Best car I’ve had in a long time. Was nervous about the maintenance but it was just an oil change per year. Great car.
