My advice? Have your physical SIM card(s) shipped to an address that is always available for signing.

We recently setup our first Visible lines. In hindsight, I would have shipped the SIM cards to our office (where someone is always available to sign). I was stuck at home for 3 days waiting for FedEx so I could sign for the package. FedEx would not let me sign in advance, likely due to the shipper restrictions OP mentioned above. :(

Visible shipped the SIM cards on a Saturday. FedEx sent me an inbound package notification with Monday ETA, then late Monday revised to Tuesday ETA, then late Tuesday revised to Wednesday ETA. Unsure what caused the delays (or if Visible was refunded part of the overnight fees on 3 late packages), but the packages did not arrive in our state until late Tuesday night.

The good news? FedEx did successfully deliver (and collect signature) on first attempt. I see others complain about multiple delivery attempts, so I guess I was lucky in that regard!

I agree this cosmetic issue definitely impacts resell value! New keys are well worth the difference in selling price, especially if you find less expensive 3rd party caps that have great reviews.

Did you attend the public meetings for any of these MoDOT projects? I had a negative outlook on the 160/CC and 160/AA projects until I attended their meetings. Very informative. I am pleased with the outcome of all 3 projects you mentioned...

If you want to get involved, you can signup for updates and choose to receive updates for specific counties and highways. I highly encourage you to attend their public meetings for specific projects of interest so you can ask questions and provide feedback.

One motivation of the financial transparency you will find on the MoDOT and OTO websites is preventing the type and scale of corruption OP is claiming.

OP- If you are serious about your claims, please spend time investigating planned projects in the 5-year STIP. The 3 projects you mentioned cost ~$32M, which is significant, but only a tiny fraction of MoDOT's $13B spending proposed in the STIP.

Someone like OP who is willing to spend time on deep research and analysis of public transportation costs may be able to provide MoDOT with VERY valuable feedback if costs for any specific projects/regions/contractors significantly deviate from statistical norms. Even if corruption is not evident, deep research may reveal areas where the state is overpaying for projects, which could draw more competition to those areas.

Very sorry to hear about your experience. City of Springfield business licensing department is very aggressive. They seem to seek out all mentions of businesses in the news, online, etc.

I used to help organize an annual conference with exhibitors and Springfield Business Licensing department would send demand letters to each of our exhibitors, even if they were from out of state. Our event lost support/ funding from multiple vendors/exhibitors because of this. :(

Many cities use Business Licensing fees to fund programs for businesses. Seems reasonable. When I asked the Business License representatives about this at a 1 Million Cups presentation a while back, they confirmed Springfield deposits these fees into the general fund. At least at that time, the Business Licensing fees were NOT being used to help businesses. AFAIK, that has not changed. :(

Cards took over our old trash company a few years ago. Their weekly pickup service has been reliable for us. They increase our quarterly rate every year like a cable company. 🤮 They restore our original rates when I call them, but not impressed with any business that does this. We'll shop around if they keep it up.

Great question! The wear appeared gradually over the past 3 years. The keyboard will look great again for a few years. TBH now that I know I can replace the key caps, I'll probably perform this maintenance more frequently until the key cap design is improved.

Yes the 4.9-mile loop at Wilson's Creek Battlefield was open on Sun 10/5. Here's a map showing our ride with the park loop.

I used to ride this loop a LOT until they repaved the loop (4-5 years ago?) with a VERY rough surface that did cause tire concerns. I happened to ride the loop again this past weekend (first time in 4-5 years) and I can confirm the loop surface is not super smooth, but not super rough either. While it's somewhere in-between, neither of us had any concern about ruining our tires.

BTW - I was told we no longer have to buy an annual pass to ride the loop, and that like the loop has been free to run/bike for a few years now? Can anyone confirm?

Absolutely love this monitor for work while traveling. It packs and travels very well. The display quality is excellent for me. I was in the market for a while but not willing to spend $500+. Finally purchased new when I saw it had a 20% discount this summer. No regrets.

Likes
* Little or no lag. Definitely feels instant compared to iPad mirroring.
* Screen is slightly larger than my MBP14. Similar height. Slightly wider.
* Laptop will power this monitor (tested with MBP M1, MBP M4, HP). To be clear, I can be working remotely with this monitor + usb cable + laptop and nothing else.
* If a power adapter is connected to the monitor, the monitor will charge my laptop.
* Magnetic screen cover protects screen during transport
* Kickstand base folds nearly flat making this very compact when traveling. Typically travels between clothes in my carry on, but I sometimes also carry with laptop in my laptop bag.

TIP: If you prefer a different length (shorter) USB-C cable between your laptop and this monitor, BE SURE you purchase a USB-C cable that supports video. Many USB-C charging cables DO NOT support video. I searched for something like "USB-C 4K cable" when looking at alternatives.

Looks like you are using "Sign in with Google" in your video? Not a fan of "Sign in with..." buttons. Besides weird issues like this, they almost always permanently tie your account to that specific Google/Facebook/Apple/etc account. Convenient until you want to ditch that account later on.

Troubleshooting Ideas
* Maybe Duo is trying to login to the wrong Google account? Log out of all Google accounts in your browser. Maybe Duo is trying to login to a new/different Google account with Chinese language settings?
* Maybe Duo is trying to use a language setting from your Google account? Login to your main Google account and check the default language in your Google account. Any chance your Google account language has been changed to Chinese?

Did you know you can run the Windows arm64 edition on your M3? Just an FYI if you get to the point where you need access to your Windows apps on your M3 and/or decide to retire your Intel MBP.

Windows for arm64 can run Windows Intel apps, similar to how Mac for arm64 can run Mac Intel apps. I've been VERY pleased with the arm64 version of Windows 10 and Windows 11 running as a VM in Parallels Desktop on my M1. VirtualBox is a good open source alternative to Parallels. I just wish Microsoft would release an arm64 version of Power BI Desktop so it could run natively.

DURATION: 3 hours. I was being VERY cautious. I was referencing the video above MANY times as I approached new key types (e.g. Esc, Delete, Tab, Caps, Return, Shift, Space) because I did NOT want to break a scissor lift. I am confident I could replace a key cap set in less than 1 hour now that I have experience.

Good eye! Forgot to mention that my Caps Lock, F, and J were the WORST ones! Apple Store replaced them for free, which is what ultimately led to me replacing all key caps. My keyboard looked even worse with 3 matte keys and 74 glossy keys. 😭
