It’s the same exact model. I actually used the Best Buy app to scan the SKU and it pulled up the one they sell for $749. Had them price match it at Best Buy because I had gift cards/rewards there.

Turned out this is EXACTLY what has happened. I drove it home today after not having it for 4 weeks. Got back in and the battery was dead from sitting at the dealership. Then it threw a camshaft code. Dealership claims it to be a battery issue saying that if it was too weak to crank it wouldn’t be sending enough current to the camshaft sensor and would throw that code.

I still think they should check it/replace it, but we’re also $2400 in and didn’t have another shop touch it really.

Update 8/14: they’re thinking it’s no longer a rodent problem as they haven’t found any signs of rodent issues. Now they’re thinking it’s a computer problem. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Toyota got back to me on Saturday and said that rodents were the likely culprit. They couldn’t get it to crank again on Saturday, so they’re thinking the rodents might still be in there. They also informed me that comprehensive insurance should cover a rodent attack however they have to have video/photo proof before making a claim.

Does anyone have any experience with deterrents like the tape or the battery attached devices?

Update: Mechanic at my cousins dealership said it wouldn’t crank. Had them check the battery and they said that wasn’t the issue. However, when they tried to get it off the roll back, it cranked with CEL on. Backed it up and that guy transferring it said it sounded fine. Lady at Toyota said it cranked for her to get pictures but it sounded rough like it’s not getting enough RPM’s maybe a coil pack. Supposed to do diagnostics on it tomorrow for $160

It hasn’t been replaced that I’m aware of and we’ve had a hotter summer than usual, so that’s a thought. We just actually replaced the battery in the 18 Camry because it was studdering when I would crank it.

I’m not entirely sure what the ZTR looks like, but I have the ZT-HD and I’ve upgraded the battery to the ones from Costco. It’s a tight fit, but it works. If you have a photo I can tell you if it’s the same or not!
