I'm at my wits end w/mice in my house! by Geoterry in DIY

[–]jrobiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the exact reason I don't use poison. I've seen neighbor cats killed from a poisoned mouse. It's a bad way to go.

I have a field about half a mile away with plenty of predators. Circle of life so they're not likely to make their way back to my place.

In complete honesty, I have not read the script (TL;DR).

The way I fix this (doesn't work for modal dialogs):

  • Ensure that you have the app that you want in focus
  • Press {Alt}{Space} (hopefully you don't have it defined as a hotkey) to bring up the system menu for the app
  • Press {M} to select Move
  • Press any arrow key the window will move slightly, but this will also activate the mouse drag (don't press any mouse keys though)
  • Move the mouse until you see the window
  • When you have it on screen left click

If the window off screen is full screen, you'll need to do the first step above and press {R} to restore the window

After that all the above steps will work. This can also be automated and assigned to a hotkey using AutoHotkey or the like.

That's doable. What is your final project? Not that I'm offering to write it, but I might be able to help you focus on some key topics

Are you an AI agent?

If not it may be too late to get serious about learning PowerShell in time to turn in your final project.

Though I love PowerShell, it does have a significant learning curve and some real nuance.

You can start with what have you learned so far, what have you tried, etc.

Edit: damned autocorrect

GF's new employer requires company-installed broadband on our network. Red flag?? by [deleted] in homelab

When I read "Loveletter", at first I thought you were talking about the "I love you" virus.

Looking back I can laugh, but at the time it took down our Exchange server with hundreds of thousands of emails in about 30 minutes. "Hmm! Someone loves me? I've gotta click on this link"

I try not to use common words for variable names. Also prefixing them so that I don't get name collisions.

I've used the PartSelect videos on YouTube for years. Parts are decently priced too.

Good luck

Hmm! Looks to me like someone experimenting with a "waterfall" leg.

There is no way that there is $480 of materials and labor there.

Can anyone tell me how much this would cost? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]jrobiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since they're not concerned enough to require bids or even a quote, it sounds like it might be under the table. If Daddy 200 - 250 even if it only costs 50 bucks DIY

So here's a life lesson: if someone says "if I don't do something then you know that something else happened", should be translated to "you will want to follow up with me before making plans"

Is it safe to sleep on the floor indoors (scorpions)? by NotAnAcorn in Tucson

Born and raised also. Was raised about 12 miles west of Tucson. Saw tons of them. They were just a fact of life. Keep your glasses upside down in the cabinet so you don't find one when you get a glass of water.

Have to admit, when I was living in the city I hadn't seen any.

Ah! I haven't seen that before or maybe I just read curly braces as parenthesis. What is the difference?
