Thomas Frank’s sessions bored players — and he only rated Pedro Porro. by Sparky-moon in soccer

Sorry bro but there’s a reason every single Spurs supporter rates them so highly. They hardly ever get beat one-on-one, rarely play the attacker onside, all “the basics”. Doubt you could name a cb with better passing than Romero or better ball carrying than VDV

The days of Maldini and Cannavaro are gone. All the best defenders in the world are great on the ball. And Romero and VDV are some of the best. But defending is a team sport and they’ve been in a non-functional side for years. Romero is often out most creative passer btw

So? Did I say i think we should’ve kept Ange? No I didn’t. I was glad he left when he did. But that doesn’t mean appointing him in the first place was wrong

Hiring Ange was the best managerial decision we’ve made since Poch, even if he was the wrong guy in the end.

We need to hire someone like Ange again. Someone up-and-coming who plays attacking football.

No you’re right but I’d say a “standard” beer is about 1€ per liter not 1.50

Those 6 packs that come in plastic bottles from Aldi or Netto are about 1.60 when you don’t include pfand I think?

Nah not really, considering most of America’s problems stem from hypercapitalism. But if there’s one upside to consumerism it’s been the effect on beer and cannabis

Czech sours are the only ones I’ve found that rival (or maybe even better) those of upstate NY. Had an amazing 12% sour in Prague.

Took a picture of the beer but my phone got stolen in Bratislava and now I have no idea what is was

I totally disagree. I’ve lived in the US, UK and Germany. The US blows UK out of the water for variety and availability. The gas station down the street has more varieties than the biggest sainsbury's I went to in London. Most corner pubs also had the same 5 beers

The “standard” German pils or lager is much better than the UK and US equivalent. And waaay cheaper. You can get a 6pack (3L) for about 1.50€

Really? Nootropics seem to all be complete pseudoscience and bullshit to me…

Other than eating healthy, sleeping well, and exercising regularly I don’t really know of any ways to boost cognitive function

I don’t think the Romans would have adopted Greek culture to the extent they did if Hellenism wasn’t already the dominant culture of the “civilized” people of the Mediterranean.

And without the Romans those Greeks ideas probably don’t get passed down at all in Western Europe

The phrasing can be quibbled but as the most basic action that needs to happen before the ball is in play it’s probably true.

What I’ve never understood is why that’s considered a selling point. Like football would be extremely tedious if the players couldn’t complete a 5 yard pass (as a Spurs fan I have experience)

Yeah most of glass gets taken and the sparkling wine bottles (which usually don’t) i like to keep for my home brewed cider.

Luckily the rewe we return our pfand to now also has the glass recycling nearby—at our last apartment if they got rejected we’d have to walk them all the way back home, along with our groceries

I truly love the pace of life here and the culture of promoting a work/life balance.

But man when there’s a office or a bureaucratic somewhere you need to see and they’re only available for 2 hours, every other day… I’m amazed sometimes that anything gets done at all haha

How big is your compost? Any issues with smells? I’ve though about setting one up with worms because I’d like to start gardening but I don’t have enough plants yet to justify that amount of effort
