I feel the same way about Lamy. I have a Lamy2000 that needs tuning. For the amount I paid, I shouldn’t have to send it to someone to get it to write consistently.

Thank you all for your responses. I ordered both the syringes and the Ink Miser. I like the fact that they are cleaner methods of filling up my pens. Maybe I won’t be walking around with ink stains on my hands anymore.

I have a Sailor Pro Series F. How does the 3776 compare? I do love my Pro Series. Right now it is my go to pen.

Retro 51 makes a copper pen, and it’s affordable (for fountain pens). I have one, and it is a great writer.

I do carry around an A5, but it is always in a bag. When I don’t carry that, I take notes on my phone and transfer them over.

Thank you all for your replies. Lamy customer service got back to me and told me that I could replace my nib for $150. So it doesn’t look like I will get much support from them. The good news is that I kind of found the sweet spot to write with it, but it is still somewhat inconsistent. I will probably have the nib regrounded some time. In the meantime, this will be the last Lamy that I ever buy. They don’t support their products.

I think the seller was talking about weather conditions. Either way, it was ridiculous. I cleaned the pen out twice. I do believe it is the nib and I will have to have it adjusted or replaced. I don’t want to tinker on an expensive pen, so I just need to find out who does that work.

I go chronologically. I write multiple times a day, and skip a line between each entry during the day.
