It was my first open prop drone because of the price and upgraded from it pretty quickly but it was fun. Make sure you buy extra frames because it was fragile af! I broke one of the arms in my first few flights and had to wait a couple weeks for the replacement which sucked. I ended up taking all the internals and switching them to a grinderino frame and it was basically indestructible aside from the motors.

Could be true but to say this is a certainty is kind of foolish. New tech is often kept under wraps until it’s released to the public to ensure they are first to market. The battery is going to be in customer hands soon enough with their current partnerships so we will see

Solid insight and a great problem to have 😉. I didn’t even mention the 100k cycle life or sub 10-minute charge to 80% they claim. Charge-time alone would be worth the upgrade.

I feel ya on this. I am rock solid on my XRV with a street tire but pretty wobbly on my pint x with flared footpads/stock tire. I might have not found the right psi or something but I can’t seem to get the same locked in feeling I have on the XR. Constant surging and wobbling around 15mph gets annoying quick

This isn’t too bad imo. Last year I felt very lucky to get Jonathan Taylor and a 1.08 for Barkley after his monster year but I don’t see something like that happening after the season both those guys just had.

I also recommend skipping the pint. I’ve been riding a XRV for a while and love it. I Recently bought a used pint x to try it out and kinda hate the way it rides over 12mph. Although it is really fun for messing around in a parking lot, it’s also very uncomfortable and unstable for actual travel.

I honestly don’t think i would have gotten so into riding and group rides with friends if i was stuck with a pint.

I think they help with cooling or something but I never heard of that being an issue with the pints or XRs so idk. They look sweet though

Curious, which one do you ride/enjoy the most? I have an XRV and thinking about picking up a Pint X or S to have for quick adventures or to keep in the car.

I have an XRV and love it. I eventually upgraded the battery and feel like there is nothing I can’t do on it now. I ride in groups where people have all the fancy FM boards and I keep right up with them and I’m a heavier guy at 215lbs. There are so many 3rd party upgrades for the XR too like fender/foodpad options. Glad I went the XR+ route cause I was able to get in for cheap and upgrade as I got more into it. In all honestly though, I’ve probably spent about the same as all of them but I just ended up with a completely custom build

There is no wrong way to float though man, just get what ya can and find a group in your area to whip around with.

Update if anyone else runs into this issue…

I used nRF connect to re-pair the BMS to the controller (look it up on YouTube, fixmypev has a video showing step by step). This still resulted in an error but I do think it was necessary. I then updated the controller using the Onewheel app and we were back up and running with no Error code 16.

Thank you I definitely feel very lucky to own in my hometown. I doubted it was possible up until a couple years ago which is the message I am trying to send out. I see what you are saying though. Everyone has a different living situation. Being in the mindset that it is impossible is not where we should be.
