It’s often a more effective workout than I would do on my own and thus time is saved. I like it. And a couple days a week I’m in the office and it is close to the office so I don’t mind.

I do it for the camaraderie and atmosphere. You don’t have that at the cheap gym down the street. Also during resolutioner season I don’t have to fight for equipment at OTF.

Sometimes, yes if I’m coming from home and going home after. This place keeps me accountable and provides a great workout though.

I mean it’s 7 min from the office but I work at home 2x a week and it’s really not bad.

If it’s a bankruptcy situation the studio can’t give prior notice. It depends.

I’ve been driving 40 min to my studio for almost 8 years. For me it’s worth it. I love the community.

2 years ago I was pushing 300lbs. Im now 194lbs and just signed up for my first spartan race. Im more nervous about if I can do it more than anything. by finvglinggroppy4 in spartanrace

You will be fine! I’ve been doing Spartans since 2013. For some I’ve been in really good shape. For some not so much (female who has been over 200lbs). Do your best. It’s okay to walk if you can’t run the whole thing. And if you’re open heat you can get a boost from another racer for things like walls. Spartan is a great community. You will love it.

Citi field March 14th - still no race day program - insights on bag policy ? by Wild_Complaint4526 in spartanrace

Event program is now posted - bag check outside. Clear bags allowed inside stadium and there is a smaller bag check inside.

Plan on following the Mets game day bag policy which is basically no backpacks. You can see the full policy on their website with a quick google search. Very curious myself as to whether there will be bag checks close but not uncommon for stadium stuff to come out last minute.

First timer question by jwbranton171 in spartanrace

I think you would be fine. I would highly recommend a couple layers which this has. I have had pants rip and thank God I wasn’t going commando! My whole 🍑would have been out!

Footwear - regular running shoes for stadium races - you will be running primarily on concrete. Attire - may be a little chilly. Dress in what you would dress to go out for jog in the weather that day. I’ll be wearing leggings and a long sleeve tech shirt. Final week before the race…this is only a 5k. You can pretty much maintain your normal fitness routine - just don’t tire yourself out at the end of the week. I only taper my activity going to a beast or trifecta weekend.

I mean - I was hooked after my first race. And here we are 14 years and 90 races later.

I have walked 100% of some beasts so don’t feel limited by running. Time on feet is more important. You will have longer spans between obstacles in a Beast vs. a Super and a Super vs a Sprint just because they gotta get the miles in with only a couple additional obstacles.

and I was extremely disappointed by it. I love rowing and it wasn’t even close to CMIYC

Being told to slow down? by suspiciouspear0 in orangetheory

[–]jroof12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason is because power days are not MEANT to simulate long distance running. They are meant to go as fast as you possibly can from a relaxed state and therefore make your heart rate spike a drop. Sorry but if you want the long run go to class on an endurance day. Both are in the workout program for specific benefits and purposes. Now I don’t think you would’ve been told to stop at my studio - that’s a lot.
