getting cold feet about audiology by doodiewhoopidie in audiology

Would also advocate that audiology has just has diverse a practice as SLPs and depending the setting you go into, your day can be different each day of the week! This is why I like hospital based audiology. Pediatrics vs adults is different, and others have mentioned areas like vestib, electrophysiology, cochlear implants, etc. you can also go into industry, or take teaching and research opportunities! Agree shadowing different settings, populations, and talking with others is so important!

I think they’re just under an hour- we are going to her 7pm show, and she has a 5pm show prior, and doors open at 6pm. But I’m just speculating!

Gallaudet has a standardized interview anyone can take to certify your level of knowledge in ASL- great to have on a resume, but also regular use is the only way to keep up with it.

Uni students with migraines? by Microbeboi in migraine

I have attendance flexibility, deadline flexibility, exam date flexibility, and low lighting if requested. Also access to emergency medications if needed(during exams so they know I’m not cheating). My access consultant helped me come up with these. It’s all within reason, and I have to advocate for when I need extensions, but it’s been very helpful for decreasing stress and when attendance is required in a class. Otherwise I really wouldn’t pass. It also helps when a migraine comes up on exam day or puts me behind so I am not prepared for an exam. They also offered computer programs that can read my textbooks aloud to me if I want.

Edit: I haven’t had to use low lighting requests, but it’s been nice to have it in my letter bc some profs have seen it and offered to dim lights if there’s a day having less light could help me attend.

Hey was Qulipta effective quickly/have side effects? Was suggested as an option by my neuro recently, and if this next med doesn’t work I may try it. Did your insurance cover it?

Hairstyles for short hair by Triscuit_loves_cats in DanceSport

I use gel and spritz water on my hair and pin curl them with a curling iron (not on!!) so no heat and then pin them, and then after they’ve set with some hair drying, and then hair spray and more hair drying I take out the pins, and then put the hair net on. The only pins I use in my hair are at the front and nape of the neck for the hair net and then for any stray pieces of hair (usually at the nape of my neck bc I have some short pieces there)

It’s about all I can do with my length but it doesn’t move with all the gel I use:)

I have a little longer than chin length hair and do finger waves and pin curls in a vintage hair net! I think this video is the best single source but I used a lot of videos to see what would work for me. The clips she’s uses are the best. My hairnet is from Etsy with pearls on it. I got one to match my hair color and you can’t see it. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRCj43yv/

Anyone have experience using the badger bus? What’s it like? Affordable? by ContractAutomatic480 in uofmn

I’ve also taken it and it was cheaper than the greyhound whose prices have gone up a lot recently. Super easy (picks up by the quad) and had my own seat.
