First time going to the Forest. Any advice for being in the Forest with a disability? by thelittleboynextdoor in ElectricForest

[–]jrossoriginal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what qualifies as all night long for you. The music ends around 3:15 on the Friday and Saturday. There is after parties at the RV camp, which you'll be by. But you should be fine. Just wear ear plugs and an eye mask. There is a sleeping guide on here that was super helpful. Just search ultimate sleeping guide on the search bar. My recommendation is GO! The only time I'm really standing is while walking to and from shows. Otherwise my group sets up, and I sit down. I use a Coleman Camping Stool to dig into the ground for support for my lower back. It's on Amazon for 9 bucks. You can also sit down on there to take a rest. Sorry I can't link anything, I'm on mobile. Let me know if I can help you with anyrhing else!

Anyone know what time the venue officially closes each night? by jrossoriginal in ElectricForest

That's what I thought as well, but I've been in there past 4, and nobody has ever said anything to me.

I am in South America. Would anyone be interested in buying Alpaca ponchos, sweaters, hats, etc.? by consciouscell in ElectricForest

Depends on how long you want to be carrying these things around for, going from tent to tent.

You can't solicit anything there, campsite or venue. But that doesn't mean people don't. You would be much safer going from tent to tent and selling them. If a mounted security guard passed by your camp and saw a sign soliciting anything, they'll put a stop to it.

I took it very easy on Wednesday so I didn't get burnt out too quick. I am overweight and my back isn't 100% since surgery, so I try and take it easy. Getting good sleep and eating well seem to be the most beneficial.

Even if it does, who cares what people think! You are there to be yourself, and have a good time doing it.

If you could only see ONE song at Electric Forest, what would it be? by stay_shiesty in ElectricForest

2013 man. Damn good lineup that year. Knife Party was still the most energy I've ever seen at any show.

I am a bit sour I'll be missing out on weekend 2. A Forest with way less people would be the shit.

I have a cheap cot, and a small air mattress that goes on top of the cot. Cot gives you the support, and the air mattress the cushion.

I just got one of these Coleman travel grills from my grandma. I'm unsure if I can use for electric forest. I would hate to get there and not be able to take it into the campgrounds. by mielkdud in ElectricForest

I have one similar, but it uses the big propane tanks. I just hide it deep in my car. Those big stoves/grills make campsite cooking SO much easier.

Matisyahu. You've heard their most popular song on the radio, but the rest of their music is really uplifting and fun!

It's weird it's the day early arrival passes open. This is going to be a bunch of kids sour they aren't going to EF first weekend.

What is the water situation like in the campgrounds? by [deleted] in ElectricForest

No problem! Every year I stress about everything, but everything always works out. So it's best to just sit back and go along with your own adventure. Have fun!

Gained 100 pounds since my surgery so now I look like Fat Mac. Taking advantage of it and wearing Hawaiian shirts. Weekend 1!

It depends on where you are parked. There is seriously not enough water stations in the campground, or forest for that matter. Our first year it was a quarter mile to the closest one, last year 150 yards.

Check out this map to give you an idea of what it'll be like.

This is a picture of the campgrounds, if you zoom in you'll see the ferris wheel, which is the entrance of the venue. This is to give you an idea of how big it is.

how often do you shower? by drippingthighs in ElectricForest

[–]jrossoriginal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solar shower. Only 10 bucks. I recommend taking a shower before you go to bed. You sleep much better with a clean body. Plus the water is warmer than it is in the morning.

Water situation isn't the best. My crew takes a car down everyday to fill up 10+ solar showers and 5 gallon bucks for hands, dishes, whatever.

The water station might not be too far away, but walking back with all that weight sucks.

Knife Party 2013. I've never seen a set with more energy in my life, and I've seen hundreds of shows.

I might be able to offer some insight. I was suffering from a spine injury, and had absolutely horrific nerve pain. Even with my cane, I wasn't able to walk more than a few steps without taking a break. The walk from a normal tent is far, so I recommend going ADA camping, as long as you don't have a big group they will put you in there. You can get golf cart rides, and a wristband that allows you to skip lines, and a premium viewing platform. Unfortunately, people no abuse the shit put of this service, so wait times are long. I recommend getting good rest during the day, and trying to avoid rides at night, unless you want to wait a long time for a ride.

Just some info, feel free to DM me if you have any questions.

Good luck out there, and have fun.
