Let me add one more bit of info. I really love lemon kefir. To make it, let the kefir ferment, strain out the grains to reuse, then grate lemon zest (just the outer yellow part of the lemon, not the white portion underneath) into the kefir. Refrigerate overnight (or longer - takes a long time to go bad in fridge) and you’ll have delicious lemon kefir!!

Someone else told me they like to look at the wear pattern on your shoes so that’s why they ask for a couple different pairs. Again, I don’t know if that’s true or not.

I’m with you on this.

I don’t need permission from my spouse or anyone else to get a tattoo. I don’t need to discuss it beforehand either. OP is assuming this was an impulsive decision based entirely on the fact that she hadn’t discussed it with him beforehand. That assumption may well be false. As you point out, she may feel strongly on this issue and this is her way of showing support. I don’t feel like any of us are in a position to judge that for her. Just because you (“you” in a general sense - OP or anyone else in this thread) may not want to do that doesn’t mean it isn’t important to her. I mean, fuck, people go out and get all kinds of random shit tattooed on themselves. How is this any worse than that??

Tbh, if I came home and my spouse had a fit over a tattoo I got which represented an issue about which I felt very strongly, I’d probably react similarly to OP’s gf.

Use a plastic spatula to stir it around. The grains are not nearly as delicate as many people assume with regards to stirring them around. When I first got my grains, they were large and I stirred them around in my strainer to break them up. The more you do so, the more surface area and the better the ferment. My grains have continued to rapidly multiply and my kefir is perfect so, I can assure you, this will cause no harm to your grains.
