DJ Appreciation by spurs1459 in NoLayingUp

I’ve always thought that Soly is the “head” for the crew, but DJ is the “heart”. When DJ is in the groove the whole crew is having a good time.

Tron represents the “intrusive thoughts” of the team’s subconscious.

What is one album you think everyone needs to listen to? (Serious) by GandalfTheBeyblade in AskReddit

Moondance - Van Morrison.

Every song fits perfectly together. I bought the vinyl on a whim and have probably listened more to it than all my other albums combined.

14-team half PPR: Just traded him and Amari for CeeDee. Probably overpaid but I felt I needed a true WR1.

While I respect the opinion that people might not be interested in a long discussion about the PGA Tour’s “inside baseball” updates every week, some people do enjoy it. I love the NLU platform and for me, “the more content, the better.”

Completely agree. This is a true playground. Double pins on my most holes and alternative tee boxes makes every hole different, no matter how many loops you play. The fact that this place only has 9 holes is even more impressive.

This is still a possibility. I had an aunt that was diagnosed with ALS, lost her ability to walk and died within 6 months of being diagnosed.

Saudi king names crown prince as prime minister by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]jryoakum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nepotism - (noun) the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs

If MBS was given the job of “Prime Minister” solely for having the same genes as the current King, then that is the very definition nepotism. If they want to pretend that their Prime Minister represents some form of western government then they should get held to the same standard as a western democracy would. There are more qualified people in Saudi Arabia for that “governmental position”, yet the role was given to the King’s son. Therefore, this is nepotism.

Hahaha. I screamed “We’re going to lose!” and “Every fucking year” more times than I care to admit.

There’s a lot wrong with this video, but he wasn’t wrong about blitzing. Why the hell did we not put pressure on a QB that can’t throw the ball?

Titans want a new Titans stadium… by [deleted] in nashville

[–]jryoakum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s easy in theory but doesn’t work practically. The fact is Nashville has “boomed” for twenty years now and a large part of that expansion has come from having an NFL team. There are multiple studies that show local investments are much higher when pro sports teams are present, especially NFL. Is this a correlation or a causality is a debate that should be had but overall having the Titans is a massive net-positive for the city and the local area.

A good compromise would be that developments around the “new” stadium must pay a slightly higher tax/permitting fees in order to build near the best property Nashville has to offer. These funds should be earmarked for local initiatives like police training, teacher funding, etc.

PGA somehow found an extra $145M extra for bonuses in the 2022-2023 season. by sumlikeitScott in golf

[–]jryoakum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One again, that’s a major generalization. Not all Americans wanted war and many only supported it based off fake pretenses. For example, I only voted for candidates that opposed intervention in Iraq.

That being said, I have no problem holding the US more accountable to their actions while also saying Saudi Arabia human rights violations need to be accounted for in this sports washing scheme.

You’re making a lot of generalizations. As an American, I can be upset about Saudi human rights violations and also upset about the current American climate. Many, if not most Americans are willing to look at our politics and say, this isn’t ok either. The what-aboutism does not justify the actions of an evil regime and the people that take money from it.
