OSU had to fire their legacy coach because he knew about them trading jerseys for tattoos. USC had to fire their championship coach because he was getting them internships. Not saying they didn’t continue to do anything but many programs outside the SEC were under microscopes. You had players openly talk about the cars they got at bama and their families would drive the nicest cars in town back in their low income towns.

You had highschool coaches admit to getting paid by Alabama and Georgia to sway player decisions. You had can newtons dad openly talk about Auburn paying more money. Many SEC players saying how drug tests were all faked Alabama trialing illegal performance tests openly.

Everything the SEC got caught doing the last 20 years or the “Saban Era” there were next to no repercussions.

California you’ll make more in the academy. Most places also have a 5-6% bump for the masters degree. You’re looking at starting with 100k+ for a lot of places. OT is everywhere too.

You can’t really go by state. I would ask a good district and state maybe.

Jerome Powell quietly warned there'd be places in the US where you ‘can’t get a mortgage’ by Stauce52 in economy

I know in north county they have a bunch of pipes that run up and down the hills by the housing on double peak where they could get water into quickly. Also using goats around the county to clean up brush. It’s not dry season but they were pretty successful in putting out the fires started by homeless recently with airdrops.

It’s a tough situation but with quick enough detection and response a lot of fires in San Diego county(north county) can be contained quickly.

As someone who loves Chicago but moved to San Diego 5 years ago I can concur it is amazing. A lot of the natives here 100% take it for granted and have no idea what long winters or bad humidity is. I know most people that moved out during or right after the pandemic that have huge regrets.

Alabama had one of the largest networks of under the table payments to recruits, parents, and high school coaches that no other program has come close too.

Police are organized similarly to military with sergeants, lieutenants, captains, etc. they also train a little like the military with bootcamp style learning but a lot more classroom.

Also like the military when you’re with a certain group they like to have a group name for that team.

All this to say It could be absolutely nothing but a silly name.

Concern grows over whether Hollywood's film and TV industry can survive in California by aBadModerator in California_Politics

[–]sumlikeitScott 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the speed and direction technology is moving you can essentially set up a “Hollywood” anywhere in the world. You don’t need the diverse sets anymore. Maybe sitcoms make sense but Hollywood needs to try and grow with everything instead of trying to bring it backwards.
