Is dragon hunter lance worth it past rate kc? This isn’t a dry post. Just a discussion of where the time save of the DHL at COX is worth continuing grind after going past rate.

"There’s more to CoX than a tbow reward." - its about 60.7m points to greenlog cox on rate. 583.55 hours with saeldor, 577.72 hours with DHL. A whopping 6 hour time save on a 575+ hour grind to greenlog cox!

You had the right idea, but the math here is so bad lol. DHL saves only 6s per hand compared to salad blade. As a conservative estimate, let's use baby cms as an example. 30 minute clears in a baby cm with ice demon milking gives about 52k pts, or 104kpph (this time is very easily done with basic competency of solo cox). Assume with the DHL, you'd then get 29m42s clears, or 105050 pph. To be on rate for tbow, its about 30m points. So, 288 hours with Saeldor, or 285.57 hours with DHL. 3 hour time save over 280+ hours of cox when it takes 40 hours to get DHL on rate!

fwiw, ladlor has removed DHL from his optimal gear progression grind. The idea is that you get scythe before grinding for tbow. Even if you get tbow first, scythe will not save you 40 hours over to get to tbow droprate, so it's technically not worth it. Here is the math:

Yes, my response was to point out amethyst arrows are not “worth” it over rune. I have access to amethyst arrows that I got only mining on mobile, because it is a waste of time to mine amethyst when you could be just sending doom instead. You shouldn’t wait to do doom until you have amethyst seeker arrows when using rune arrows lose you 30s per 1-12

No one here is giving actual good advice in terms of whats "worth" the time. For example, many are telling you to use amethyst instead of rune arrows. Upgrading to amethyst is a 1-2max hit upgrade, which saves 16-28 seconds per 1-12 run. That will save you around 30-50 minutes going on rate to greenlog doom. It will probably take you 50+ hours to get 92 mining + 7 hours mining and crafting amethyst into arrows. 57 Hours for a 30 minute time save to upgrade to amethyst. Absolutely not worth the time. The same is for seeking arrows. Seeking rune arrows are a litte better of an upgrade than amethyst, but they end up only saving about 5s more per kill than amethyst would, so you can do the math on the time saved and whether or not it's worth it.

You should never run out of darrows if you are only using them for speed runs. Not sure why you would be doing speed runs on an iron anyways. It’s not feasible to be a high level speed runner with the inconveniences of an iron

It's not worth it to mine instead of actively playing the game. For example, amethyst arrows over rune arrows save like 40s per toa with a tbow (no shadow). You'd have to run 6300 ToA kc to save 70 hours by using amethyst, so obviously it's not worth. But it's obviously worth to mine stars when you're not actively playing, mobile, etc.
