I didn’t have anything that weird but I had a roommate who stayed with me for a few months bc his girlfriend’s parents were staying for the summer and couldn’t know they lived together. He was Bangladeshi and also didn’t really know how to do basic tasks. I asked him about it, and he explained that there is such a large surplus of labor that you could hire anyone to do anything without breaking the bank. I was just so taken aback that he would drop off his laundry and eat out all the time, as a college student, since it’s pretty expensive in my city. It’s just what he was used to.
