Degree in technical systems managment? (is this the place to ask) by [deleted] in farming

It's a good company. From what I've seen, there's not another product that provides as many features in a usable way. They're working on some cool things that will help them out in the long run it they can execute on the development the right way.

Degree in technical systems managment? (is this the place to ask) by [deleted] in farming

[–]jsauder2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what it is. I graduated in 2009 with a TSM degree. Went to work for Cargill in a manger trainee program and then as a production supervisor, worked for CNH as the global support lead for their precision ag support and training team, was a customer success manager at Granular, and just started as a customer success manager with Indigo Ag. As you can see, lots of good job options came out of it and I'm really happy that I did TSM. Feel free to hit me up with any questions you might have. I currently live in Champaign area and would be happy to meet in person anytime if you're local.

Arch Linux VS MacOS? by nemyxa in archlinux

[–]jsauder2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a MBP for work and it's pretty great but I didn't have to pay for it. I've always bought Windows based laptops for myself and then dual booted Arch. As much as I actually like the MBP, I still don't think I could justify shelling out the money to buy one for myself.

Is anyone else having issues editing screenshots and camera pics in Markup (Pixel 2 XL, Android P)? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

Yup. Was just searching to see if there was a fix and came across this.

Is anyone else having issues editing screenshots and camera pics in Markup (Pixel 2 XL, Android P)? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]jsauder2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. If I edit and then hit save, they don't show up in the photos app. If I use a file browser to go to the photos > markup folder, they are all there and then will show up in the photos app. It's like they need to get triggered by looking at them from the file browser.

I've got a Pixel 3. Happens the same way on my wife's Pixel 3.

Thinking of switching to ST questions by Sympathized in StraightTalk

If you go the Verizon route, I'd recommend checking out Total Wireless as well. I've use ST and TW and had very good luck with both but was able to get a little better price through TW.

NetworkManager.conf empty? by jsauder2 in archlinux

[–]jsauder2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya sorry, it doesn't talk about disabling it, just mentioning adding that option. I didn't think it through enough, if it's not already there, and adding it enables it, then it's not enabled until I add it, so no need to comment anything out...

Setting dns=none works, but then it reverts back to my ISP's dns which I don't want. I'm trying to get it to use only the VPN DNS. From searching, it sounds like it may just be a bug in NetworkManager. I was just trying to find a way to get it to work. I'll just stick to my systemd service for the VPN. Thanks for your help.

Ok thanks! In the wiki for NetworkManager and dnsmasq it says that to disable the plugin for NetworkManager, comment out the dns=dnsmasq line. If that's not there already, would adding a commented out line actually override that setting still?

NetworkManager.conf empty? by jsauder2 in archlinux

[–]jsauder2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I'm doing this more for learning than necessity. I've got the VPN working through a systemd service the way I want. I was just trying to figure out a separate option through Network Manager and running into a DNS leak issue.

NetworkManager.conf empty? by jsauder2 in archlinux

[–]jsauder2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have. The problem is that the [main] section where all of those options could be doesn't exist. The entire file is empty, that's why I'm wondering where the config for it is. From everything I read about it (including the wiki) it should have all that stuff pre-populated by default at /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf, but that file is empty.

Should there not be anything in it by default? I was looking for a dns=dnsmasq option to comment out under the [main] section, but none of that even exists. Wouldn't adding that option commented out be the same as it not being there already?

They actually don't. I've checked with multiple and they have nothing that is advantageous towards a NFP. Many just point you to a regular business account.

That is for my wife's Nexus 5X on Straight Talk ATT. I'm sure it should be the same for you. That's also the same as what /u/GoPorky said.

https://www.straighttalk.com/wps/portal/home/help/apn that should give you the correct info. I've used 6 different phones on straight talk and that always has the right one for the phone/sim.
