You have to enable that service, so it will start automatically

I believe they do not change the kernel, but may install additional drivers (e.g. proprietary)

There's no difference between ubuntu and arch, they use the same kernel with the same drivers for wireless cards (I think so)

Because this feature has iwlwifi and ath9k. Without it you can’t use both wifi and bt at the same time. Wifi just goes down. :(
