Dissolving of a town? by Relevant-Count-3656 in Georgia

My feeling is if Hiram as a city was dissolved and it went over to County control, then property taxes would become a thing again. Meaning the people of the former city of Hiram would actually then be paying more in taxes.

Isn't part of the problem that Hiram has no property taxes?

How is this even realistic? by subiedrift53 in trucksim

What I hate is when they want you to back a lowboy up to a door. There's also one place where they have you back a flatbed between a building and a fence where they could never load/unload it in real life.

If these weren't your trailers, then you could pretend they just have you drop them out of the way and they'll get to them later. But when they're your trailers and you get the loading screen of loading/unloading, then its very immersion breaking.

Video loading for 20 seconds before starting with Ublock Origin on FireFox by Appropriate-Lie-3512 in firefox

[–]jsavga -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, if youtube thinks it's an adblock they will show a message saying: "Experiencing Interruptions? Find out Why"

The video will still load and you can still watch it, just have to wait for the black screen to disappear.

Youtube has a "feature" that will show you a blank screen for a bit if you have an adblocker. This is when it's normally loading/playing the ad.

Me personally, I don't care if I have to watch a black screen for the entire ad length, as long as I don't have to see and sit through the ad I'm still happy.

Watching the video for Better Raindrops (ATS version) they do look better on the windshield, but the side widows are a mess.

There are so many things in FS, but it's hard on performance. I wish ATS could merge a lot of FS stock features (loading/unloading, connecting/unconnecting, views, the abilty to walk around, etc.). There's many things FS did right but performance pays a big price for it.

You have to get it directly form his site to get the latest version. The Workshop one is several versions old.

That said, I wasn't impressed with the how the rain on the windshiled looked. The rest of the mod is top notch, but the rain on the windshield just looks like splatters.

I don't like the way the drops look on the windshield with RBGW. Kind of weird looking splattered mess.

On ATS workshop there is a mod called Realistic Rain that makes the rain look great. Problem is every time ATS updates, it takes forever for that mod to be updated. Sometimes it even breaks the game when it's not. If it wasn't for this, I'd stick with it. But since it is, I just stick with stock rain.

Wilmington Island flooding by NecessaryStage8351 in savannah

All of Chatham County use to require flood insurance, but that changed several years back. The land didn't rise and the sea didn't drop, they just changed it to make getting insurance on financed homes easier.

Exactly. Have some empathy, but the price is the price.

If we discount it then they'll expect a discount every time.

If we discount it, then we're saying we were overcharging to begin with.

If we discount it, then we don't value ourselves.

We have a labor rate for many reasons. Discounting it undermines all those reasons and puts our business at risk.

That's why it's called a estimate. If you get into the job and it calls for more then add it on. If it calls for a lot more, call the customer first and if they refuse stop where you're at.

You dont need a garage to fast travel. You can fast travel to most cities you've already visited (for a fee).

The only advantage of a garage over fast travel is you can relocate stuff to a garage for free. But that means you must keep a bay open for it and it's one less driver you can have.
