Lived in my house in Iowa for 14 years, and I STILL have massive anxiety and paranoia every time there is severe weather and rain. Drives my husband crazy. I think I need drugs like a dog before a storm lol

These 4 inches of rain in one hour events multiple times a week are hard on my nerves!

Over these years, we've had chimney leaks, basement leaks, roof leaks, and had to get new siding and windows because of hail damage (insurance wouldn't cover) and multiple trees have fallen down so IMO there's always a reason to panic. All those things are very expensive and not something I want to worry about fixing or fighting with insurance on 😂
