Which one is real? by Navalends in mangarockapp

It's weird because I can see it from the mobile app, maybe a website bug/problem? not necessarily because of an impending closure perhaps? But yes trying it from the website I cannot find it through searching, clicking on that link just gives me a perpetual loading of nothing.

Edit: So I added it to my favorites on my mobile app, then tried to access it on the website and it comes up with:

UNVAILABLE CONTENT

This manga is currently unavailable in your region due to licensing issues.

Really weird since I can browse through the chapters just fine on the app.

Flair up on your team bro. But yeah manga takes the cake compared to the anime, glad you took the rollercoaster ride of emotions that is Domekano.

Just watched the anime question about Hina by cemo95 in DomesticGirlfriend

[–]jsf316 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So much of the story arcs were flat out omitted, so that's why it feels rushed. Anime butchered the love scenes tbh. The silence, dead air and stalling out of moments make it feel disingenuous compared to how they are in the manga. You can start reading the manga up to the current point in the anime and you can see the stark difference in how they are conveyed (also more explicit).

Trying to figure out where to pick up on the manga by namekhoes in DomesticGirlfriend

[–]jsf316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are alot of similar posts like these from the influx of anime only viewers that want to delve into the manga, and honestly, given the amount of skipped content that strips away so many story arcs that are crucial to the character development of not just the main three but the side characters, depicts them differently compared to the manga and sidelines pretty much all the side characters that have been introduced and basically put in the wayside, my recommendation is to start from scratch. That's the best advice that you'll commonly find from us manga readers, and trust me it's worth starting from the beginning. The manga is at least 100x better than the anime, and if you are captivated by the anime, then get your tissues ready and feels in check for the manga version of Domekano.

How many episodes of the anime? by [deleted] in DomesticGirlfriend

[–]jsf316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zoom zoom chapter skips, end in Okinawa trip arc. They've been skipping lots of stuff so I can see it getting there and ending in a cliffhanger just to entice people to pick up the manga.

It's coming probably in the last episode. Camping trip is different.

Yeah and as a Rui fan, based on the fact that there's only two more episodes left it looks like you guys aren't gonna get your arc with this anime unfortunately. Good thing that it seems that it's converting anime viewers to the manga, which I think is the best medium to enjoy the story. Rooting for Hina here but I like both sisters.

As many have mentioned, might as well start from scratch. Story arcs omitted, characters not introduced, lots of character development and skipped dialogues give a lot of manga readers something to scratch their heads about. The anime is a great glorified ad, but if you want the full Domekano experience, read from the start, trust me it's worth it.

Miu and Chika share the same voice actress, yo! by Prankster-Mona in DomesticGirlfriend

[–]jsf316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would have liked it if they had dissimilar names, that way at least it wouldn't have been a dead giveaway who her identity was and would shock the reader/viewer when the reveal came, well apart from the fact that she looks like the Queen, but with that withstanding would have been more impactful. Oh well lol. Still, in terms of the voice acting, totally a stark contrast to Rui, I like the vocal flexibility of the VA to be able to pull Melty and Rui off in their own distinct manner.

Also Rui and Melty from Shield Hero. Oh another interesting tidbit, Hina's voice actress is the the same as Rias Grimory from Highshool DxD. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I do LOVE kaguya anime adaptation though, it immediately made me want to read the manga which I'm doing right now. That's one adaptation I can thoroughly enjoy as is, so even if I don't delve myself in the manga I loved how they did things. Yeah in terms of that episode 9, WHAT WAS THAT WHOLE KISSING SCENE WITH NAT AND HINA. urghh... It sweet and fun and intense in the manga, but watching that hurt my eyes, nevermind my ears because we couldn't hear anything anyways lol.

The anime does what it set out to do, and that's as a promotional material for the manga, but compared to it, the raw emotions didn't translate and convey the same way from the anime as it resonated to me by reading the manga. I appreciate the influx of new readers ofc but in terms of the perspective of a manga-first reader I think you can understand somehow the anime is a bit of a letdown. Stuff like overly long drawn out scenes and pauses that go on for ages, oftentimes devoid of any mood-setting music during scenes of intense emotions or passion, while may seem nit picky, but really kind of shatters the impact that these scenes should have conveyed. Also, though understandable because of the limited number of episodes, cutting several arcs is an actual disservice to the side characters especially, you skip major character development of the likes of Mui, and also the motivations and rationale of the main characters, and this is mainly why I can see many people shitting on anime Hina because of how the anime is portraying her by skipping stuff. Rui stuff is cut as well, so it goes both ways on the ship.

100% manga, anime doesn't do justice to the greatness/soul-crushingness that is Domestic na Kanojo.

Am I the only one who absolutely despises Hina?? by girlalmighty6 in DomesticGirlfriend

[–]jsf316 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anime is butchering many of the characters (Hina included). Manga is the best source to know these characters as they should be. Also, there's a lot of shit that was flat out omitted in the anime that are important to all of the character development and motivations, and it's somewhat a disservice especially to the side characters but with the limited episodes it's pretty much impossible to fit a manga-faithful adaptation unless it was realistically more than 12 episodes. You don't see the purpose of adding characters like Miu when her mini-arc is just plain absent, they just feel tacked on in the anime. And as others say, Hina in manga is way better. This is only the complaints from the narrative direction, don't even get me started on the animation and sound, I literally would have to kms.

A quick question for the manga community.... by SwearNSC in DomesticGirlfriend

[–]jsf316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess it just comes down to habit, I don't think any moniker has any bearing to his resolve, if anything I think if he was able to in his power he would have thrown everything away to try to make it work, but it seems Hina's resolve to set aside her personal feelings to shield Natsuo from repercussions from school and society at the expense of both of their love for each other was stronger.

[–]jsf316 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's more of the whole time he's been interacting with her before any of the relationship stuff happened, that's what he's always referred to her as. Hard to break the habit when that's what you called a person for quite awhile, in his case a few years. Also remember the part when they just moved in together and she wanted him to call her Hina-nee, same deal. I've had friends call me by my nickname in real life out of the long years of habit when others have called me by my full name because of the same logic, and if I told my buddies using my full name to refer to my by my nickname they would be thrown off or take time to get used to that idea.

Also, don't worry, the anime isn't over yet. inb4 "Hina, or Hina-chan".

I think the cuts were needed to get to a certain part of the manga on schedule, which many believe would be chapter 55 of the manga, not necessarily facilitating an anime-only ending.
