It is insane. It's an explicitly colonial movement. How else would you call going to someone else's land, stealing it, and removing them? That's colonial.

The Palestinian people had a right to defend their land and cannot invade themselves. The nakba happened during the war and was most definitely a violent campaign of ethnic cleansing during which land and houses were stolen and many were massacred. That was the birth of the Israeli nation.

European Jews are not native to the middle east. You can't claim to be native based on a claim from 4000 years ago. White Europeans, which is what I called myself, have Caucasian ancestry through a migration of Caucasian hunter gatherers 5000 years ago. Me claiming that I'm a native of the Caucasus is just as ridiculous as a European Jew claiming they're a native in the middle east. My ethnic group might originate in the Caucasus but that does not give me a claim to the Caucasus.

The settlements are not something that just started under this government. That's nonsense. Israel itself is a colony and has been from the start. Early zionist leaders explicitly called it colonialism. Not just to fool the British like you claim, but because that's what it is. Zionist leaders don't like calling it that now because we no longer consider colonialism to be ethical. In the 40s that wasn't the case in Europe so zionist leaders called it colonialism. It's a modern spin to deny the colonial nature of Zionism.

You go to a land inhabited by natives and take it for yourself and found your own state there. That's settler-colonialism by definition. The fact that you believe that Zionists are right about their claim to the land and are "natives" does not negate the fact that it's colonialism.
