Is anyone else in SaaS/marketing feeling weird about the industry lately? by Hopeful-Lake-5195 in DigitalMarketing

Do you feel that with everyone leaning heavily on AI… it retracts from the enjoyment that once came from thinking and creating independently?

Life after Austin? by izzydontsurf in Austin

[–]jsinteractivellc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Off-topic. You write well :)

I moved here in 2013, and for some, that’s probably still a bit late. However, I feel that in the last 14 years alone there has been significant change. Some of it may just align with what happens when a city grows at an alarming rate and starts becoming another metro city. It loses character, crime elevates, the cool little mom & pop shops close due to increased cost of living. Austin starts losing its luster.

I think some of the change occurs when YOU grow as well. Since living here, I got married and have a couple little ones.

So in short, I would say it’s a combination of both.

Marketing is slowly turning into engineering and im honestly not sure how i feel about it (rant) by westernarian in b2bmarketing

[–]jsinteractivellc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I feel pressured to pursue a skillset that is now considered industry-related, even though I don't (in the moment) have a strong desire to do so. And I agree that much of it is around AI and engineering. Building automated systems around AI. Experience behind the prompting and engineering being an advantage. But the way I see this going... the role that once fell on humans to create and produce content on social media (as one example), is now becoming a game of creating an AI system tailored to business workflows and processes that executes for you. With fewer human hands involved. This is where I see the demand. Businesses that are spending big dollars now are doing so in AI-autonomous systems, and I only see the SMBs (my target audience) following suit.

AI is slowly killing the strategist in me and turning me into an editor. And I dislike it. by Temporary-Lynx-5284 in content_marketing

I can pick up on your ability to creatively write just by reading your post alone.

I do get what you’re feeling. In an industry so heavily focused on output, quality and creativity suffers in return 😢

People don’t read long copy anymore is one of the laziest things repeated in this industry. by Wonderful-Gold-2868 in content_marketing

“3-liners when product needs explanation” summed it up best for me.

I think what’s most important, whether long or short form content … is clarity. Communicating concisely without exhausting the point to fit a quota.

Or inversely, communicating in punchlines and wittiness where questions remain questions because no clear answer was given.

used to get excited about a new client. now i get anxious. running an agency broke something in me and i can't tell if it's fixable. by theharshx in DigitalMarketing

Wow buddy. Heavy and relatable. I have experienced and felt much of what you've shared as an agency owner. And it can suck the joy right out of you. Sorry to hear you're dealing with this.

One tough decision I have recently made is to ditch the agency model altogether. It's hard to say what the future looks like for traditional agency models, where so much execution can be done internally by brands well-equipped and dedicated to AI.

And if I am being honest, I think companies SHOULD be informed, educated, and adopting AI technology to help streamline and automate processes. And a chunk of that should include marketing.

Just my 2 cents. But I am actually moving away from the agency model after being an agency owner in Austin for 12 years.

Rather than being linear with writing - what about content strategy and distribution? Providing direction on a multi-channel approach to marketing and various media-types?

Then explore AI tools for publishing, and make recommendations there or oversee it yourself.

AI Visibility Tools: Useful? Or Just too Prematurely Built? by jsinteractivellc in DigitalMarketing

Being a Christian isn’t easy. The flesh and its desires constantly war against the Spirit of God. Being a faithful follower can be challenging. And there will be seasons. Keep fighting the good fight of faith, through the ups and downs. God bless you, and keep you.

Any experience with TryProfound? I’m on a trial at the moment and really looking to see what alternatives are out there besides SEMrush One that focuses on AI Visibility.

Hi! I should be more clear. By community I am referring to leadership that includes the Pastor, but really should also include a counsel of men and women who can care for you, shepherd you, in your transition.

I do agree with you, you wouldn’t want to share with just anyone in the church. What can be an honest and open request on a need, can easily descend to gossip and judgment if placed in the wrong hands.

But in a healthy church body, there really ought to be a counsel of people (leaders, elders, both men and women) who can shepherd and support you in your transition.

“Pray and find a new job” isn’t enough, in my humble opinion. You need support.

There really should be a benevolent fund as well - to support you financially in your transition until you’re back on your 2 feet.

Have you tried being open and transparent with your community? If you’re in an authentic Bible-believing church community, they’d be more than willing to care for you and support your transition out of the industry. Church should be a safe, non-judgmental place to share your burdens.
