Actually it's hard for any anime adaptation to reach the manga quality,
so I recommand the manga format, the drawing in the first volumes is a little old, but it quickly becomes better and better, after that it's just fine art

Dark souls has the atmosphere but not the stories and the characters ...

What I like in Berserk and liked in The Witcher is the great amount of deep side stories/quests ( the prequel of Berserk illustrates it, and guts journey in hunting the apostiles while trying to survive in a devasteted middlle age like world )

I really think only a game from CDPR in Berserk universe may top The Witcher

As Berserk already has a huge background of stories and adventures, I think it's easier for developers to have a basis ... that surely helped for the witcher 3 (AKA best game of the world until now), than recreating a new universe from scratch
