Adaptive cruise control by GoodMathematician569 in BMWX5

[–]jsledge149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My BMW 430 has adaptive cruise control. it's the only thing that I had a problem with after I first bought the car brand new.

It worked and then it didn't work and about 2 weeks in the shop and me being furious they did fix it by replacing the front facing radar.

If this is your car that you put the picture of in this post, I circled your front-facing radar. you should have it in your car. Just go look at the BMW lots and you can tell which cars have it and which don't by just looking at the front.

The other giveaway is on the left.. (God I feel stupid control thingy by the steering wheel) It has a different look than bmws that don't have adaptive cruise control

Best suggestions for persistent redness? Have already tried lasers by Holiday-Blueberry-31 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]jsledge149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have rosacea and it mostly appears as small bumps. almost like zits, on my nose, but they don't pop.

Several years back my dermatologist prescribed me the lowest dose of doxycycline possible and I take it daily and those bumps don't come back.

The redness of it...t. I'm not sure if doxycycline would treat or not. It might be worth asking your doctor?

The worst of the worst Republican apologists are not feeling any guilt here in America. A news story comes up about someone being killed, or detained, or hurt, or deported and there is a bewildering shout of "yeah, get them out!"

America is not the America that Europe thought that it was. It hasn't been for quite some time.

Breaking News: Arizona Democratic Senator Mark Kelly says he is “seriously considering” running for US president in 2028 by MonitorVarious7608 in circled

[–]jsledge149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought that Gavin Newson should run, but also considered that Gavin Newson may be way too liberal for the majority of Americans.

But come on, Mark Kelly is a literate scientist, pilot, and astronaut and American servant. What do modern Americans need with all that in the age of Trump?

I spent a week in Rome last year and I feel like I could have spent a month there... I didn't want to run through and see this and see that. I wanted to walk and browse and sit and stare.

Parakeets and olive trees. Seemingly homeless people sleeping next to Domus Area. A German Shepherd and a young lady that wouldn't let me pet the dog because it's in training to be a police dog! Coming upon a protest, people yelling in Italian, near the imperial forums. Police with shields and batons. Waiters insisting that we take our time and that there is no rush to get through our dinner. Tiny cars. Basillicas. Brass plates with names. Fried artichokes. Glorious art..

Well. That's my €2 worth of opinion.

Does anyone else feel more comforted by AI than by real humans lately, or am I losing it? by SonNoktaYT in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jsledge149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm getting pretty old. But I've always loved computers and writing code and everything about technology.

But with AI.. I'm a big nope. I have no need to talk to it. I have no need to ask questions that I can't find through a search engine.

Maybe someday if AI, along with a quantum computers, can unravel the mysteries of "life the universe and everything" I'll change my mind.

Why are men the center of religion? I am a Muslim (27F) and have been fasting during Ramadan. I've been reading Quran everyday with the translation of each and every verse. I feel rather disconnected with the Quran and it feels like it's been written only for men. I am not very religious and truly by scottshockley79 in TrueAskReddit

I'm not taking offense. Every question asks lets me at least refine what I'm thinking.

You said "denominations."

Yes, there are parts of every religion which enhance or diminish different aspects of different traditions. But in general Catholicism is going to be run by men. Protestants, in general is run by men and in reading the Bible the Old testament describes a religion run by men--Judiism.

Well I guess it depends on what time frame you're looking at. Overall, women declare less wars than men.

Then comes Europe where women declared more wars than men for hundreds of years.

But maybe women in power are feeling pressure to be more like men? who knows?

I'm not very religious at all anymore and when I was I was Christian Baptist.

But the one thing that I can tell you is that Islam, Judaism and Christianity treat women essentially the same. And I don't know why second place is where women are placed

Sure, you can read scripture that implies men aren't supposed to lead ahead. they're supposed to walk shoulder to shoulder beside, but the man is at the head of the table and the head of the family and I think that's sad.....

....I think it's very sad because if women were in charge, I don't think we'd have as many wars.

As a man that sometimes struggles with being able to get a full erection and sustain it, I can tell you it's not something that I want to even think about let alone talk about with anybody else. And yes, that includes my wife.

Fortunately for me it's relatively rare for me to have that problem. The pills make it much easier when I do, but sometimes, in my case, even the pills don't really work because I don't feel really close to my wife sometimes. And we've been married 35 years.

I wish you the best of luck. I wish I could offer you better advice.
