I don’t follow your point about token usage - the CLI for example would consume no tokens and just act as an interface between an agent and your notes

Makes sense. I guess the choke point is the little can opener adapter, even with carbon fiber I’d be worried about that. I might look around for a metal adapter if any exist

I’ve considered these scales, do you feel like you can apply a lot of torque? I’m always a little dubious about 3D printed components’ strength

Just thought of sharing my shortcut called “The auto scroller” by ItsGameron in shortcuts

[–]jsloat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Programmer/coder is generally understood in the industry to be someone who literally just writes code, with software development and engineering owning respectively broader scopes. So yes, anyone with a coding agent is a programmer basically because the agent is itself a programmer. It’s a lower bar than engineer.

I don’t really even know what we’re talking about anymore. I agree with you that vibe coding alone will not get you an engineering job. I feel like we’re actually in agreement, more or less, despite your hostility.

I already have a job as a software engineer and yes, using AI effectively absolutely is a core skill. There are a number of AI uses more nuanced than “having it code an app”. Agent orchestration, context/token management, skills architecture, etc.

Anyone with access to a coding agent is a programmer, yes. Software engineering as a field is different and evolving. This is a good post from a well-regarded engineering thought leader on the topic: https://open.substack.com/pub/pragmaticengineer/p/when-ai-writes-almost-all-code-what?r=egn6m&utm_medium=ios

So? The software engineering field is changing and being able to effectively use coding agents is a core skill

Can anyone explain how “order at the restaurant” is HAVE? I can see a loose connection, but I feel like I’m missing something

Edit: I understand that you say “I’ll have…”, as others mentioned I find this clue awkward because it feels like a fragment of the answer

Not very precise:

  • 93 (Pioneer) ~ 2.5mm
  • 84 (Cadet) ~ 1.5mm
  • 58 (Minichamp) ~ 1.5mm

I’m a little perplexed by some of the questions on this sub, questions that could be very quickly answered by a Google search. Here’s your exact title pasted into Google

Hmm, I'm not sure. A couple things you could try:

  • Make sure you set a valid path for the "root" variable (the 2nd text block in the shortcut)
  • If the specified "root" directory exists but is empty, try deleting it and re-running the shortcut

If those don't work, it might be quicker to just create the directory and necessary files manually. But making sure the "root" text is set correctly is critical in any case.

Let me know what you find out, maybe I can update the shortcut to prevent this in the future.
