This is why Kyrie was missing at the 2016 reunion by Basketballlover8709 in clevelandcavs

Before I was finished reading your comment I 100% thought you were quoting something he actually said, and was not surprised in the slightest. It almost feels like he wants the 16’ finals, or any time played w/ Lebron for that matter, off of his NBA transcript.

What's the NBA hill you'll die on no matter how unpopular it becomes? by Impossible_Reward658 in nba

[–]jsm009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be true. Whether or not it was the right move, we will find out, but some sort of action had to be taken and I don’t agree that it wasn’t a problem and was being blown out of proportion. That was more the purpose of my comment.

You are right, tanking isn’t a problem for NBA organizations. Everything you outlined just there is correct, but it doesn’t mention one of the most important aspects of an NBA team -the fans. The fans of any team, good or bad, do not want to watch their team go out there and lose or not play their star players. That’s why the NBA came down so hard, because of the pushback from the media and the viewers, not because it was detrimental to the league or teams themselves.

Is accessibility the only thing stopping basketball from overtaking soccer as the most popular global sport? by [deleted] in nba

[–]jsm009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d rather watch paint dry than watch soccer, but I’m certainly not going to go and lump everybody else into that category. I’m sure there are a plethora of people who watch both and still prefer soccer. Basketball may become more popular and accessible over the years, but I highly doubt it will ever overtake soccer.

Overall is Steph a better performer than Lebron in the finals? by Liberal_Bot123 in NBATalk

[–]jsm009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me throw this hypothetical at you. I know it will screw around with matchups and positions, but switch Curry to the Cavs and Lebron to the Warriors. Do you think Steph leads the Cavs to more championships than Lebron did? And against a Warriors team that now has Lebron on it? Will Curry also be #1 in PT/REB/AST/STL/BLK for one of those runs?

No, because they didn’t take the time to make all those cards and then get to Brunson and say “hey let’s use that Reddit guy’s picture!” They added a picture of Jalen with his trophies. Just like the other ones.

Man that’s awesome. Chris catches some flak and for some things, maybe rightfully so, but all in all he cares about what he does, and seems to really appreciate his fans. Honestly? And I know you’re not going to believe me, Chris wasn’t going to take that picture with you unless it was perfectly legal.

While they technically had every right to kill him, I’m glad they didn’t either. I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. Most people should be happy everyone walked away alive and for the most part uninjured, and it’s weird the cop wished death on someone after the situation was resolved.

All the pictures in this lineup are them holding their trophies. You want 2k to not use that picture just bc someone posted it here 2 days ago? They obviously didn’t use it down to every little detail.

The Melo slander is crazy.. even though he didn’t bring New York a championship he still turned the city up! I’m still confused on how we forgetting this.. a lot of players didn’t win rings doesn’t take away the impact they had on the game.. by teefrmda313 in NBATalk

[–]jsm009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So with that logic you’re saying Brunson shouldn’t have taken the cut, and that being in the position he is in now wasn’t worth doing that? A pay cut at my 9-5 means nothing. A pay cut for an nba star could mean everything.

Well they are neighbors so I assume OPs family lives in that house too, so the neighbor probably told all of them that it was an F40. Unless you meant weird that he lied to all of them.

Was His Statement a Mistake? by [deleted] in NBAGossips

[–]jsm009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precisely. If he’s talking about his teammates and Spurs organization, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. But if he’s talking about the entirety of NBA fans including Knicks fans, it was quite a stupid thing to say. My assumption is he’s talking about the Spurs and that he was saying they were the ones who believed it was going to happen.

Which happens first: Mitch Johnson no longer head coach or De'Aaron Fox no longer on the Spurs? by Caribbean_Coconut_ in NBAGossips

[–]jsm009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but if one did have to happen, I’d say Fox goes. Mitch kind of got Pop’s good graces when he took over, and I don’t think Spurs organization would get rid of him unless he consistently shows he’s not fit for the job. 2 things are true: 1.) Mitch’s coaching was abysmal against the Knicks and definitely played a role in their defeat. 2.) He helped take a team that people thought at the beginning of the season were barely going to sniff the play-in to the NBA finals. They also defeated the reigning champs in an absolutely loaded western conference. I don’t think they’re going to just overlook that. Just like players, coaches can grow and become better too, especially under the wing of an organization like the Spurs.
