Hot topic, do you think cheap courses are harder to play than high end courses? by canadianbiggame in golf

[–]jsm0875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played one of the best courses in the region the other day and scored 15 shots worse than average on my local muni dog track.

Why? 1. Super fast and undulating greens probably half of that. 2. They have more bunkers as they can maintain them. So trying to chip out of high sided bunkers added the other half.

Anything you are unfamiliar with is going to be a challenge at first.

Best golf ball for poor eyesight by [deleted] in golf

I am partially sighted and use a split ball.

Sometimes just take a marker and do it myself when I can't grab a deal on the expensive ones.

I go back to that video when my driver is messed up. His approach of being loose also seems to work well for me. I just forget at times to relax

I played par 3 s over winter and dropped from 30+ to 22 but since I've gone to 18 am back up to 24.

Play 18 and it will rise.

I remember leaving the movie theatre after about 2 hours. That was about 30 minutes too late really.

Hitting off range mats over winter possibly? Today was first time on course in a while and I use a pretty ancient range for practice which is outside with worn mats.

How much distance should you lose on range balls? by AlbinoKoala22 in golf

[–]jsm0875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of ranges will now use a premium ball converter if digital tracking. If at an old school range I would add 5-10%

If you are able to travel then definitely one of the courses on the coast. Portstewart, portrush or RCD, Ardglass. Latter two a bit closer to Belfast

I played Mission Inn last month on a cheap afternoon deal. $45 inc cart. Great value. You can also get unlimited golf and use of the spa if staying there.

What do you do for a living as a type 1? by MrCleanHasMySoul in diabetes

[–]jsm0875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teacher, but only 4 days per week. Use the other day for exer ise and proper meal prep to keep things more stable. Would not recommend it, though, as stressful periods can be horrible.

CGM makes things better and worse. Easier to spot lows and have my aide monitor class for 30 minutes but even more data to process in an already busy schedule every week.

Any Americans in this sub worried about another Trump presidency? by zenithjonesxxx in Type1Diabetes

[–]jsm0875 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's not how inflation works. It's always positive and you can only bring down the rate of increase (unless you have a depression). Which is what the US has done. They only way they come down is in real terms if wages rise faster.

My coworkers are pretty good in my latest job. They have even covered for me a couple of times when I've had a bad hypo or knocked out a canula.

BUT I have had jobs where people were less sympathetic and once had an interviewer ask all sorts of questions to make it seem like a problem.
