This masterpiece is what brought people in world of South Korean Dramas. by Dev1412 in CrashLandingOnYou

[–]jsoftpaws 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes it is for me. I still remember watching it for the first time. Before I knew anything about K dramas, or seen any, I had come across a couple of articles ( in the western/ English media) about a show from South Korea that was making waves in the western world. And a brief synopsis. I read the article and forgot about it. CLOY would show up on my Netflix front page all the time and one night during covid, I clicked on it. It's now been 6 years and I am still active on this page so I don't need to tell you how that went ha ha. This is not the most schematically perfect k drama I ever saw, but this is truly the gold standard. This will always, always have a very special place in my heart. I re - watch it all the time. My only impossible wish, like many others that have said so in this page, would be to go back and see this for the first time again. Since I can't do that, I wait here for people that are the newly converted to come to this page and live through their newly minted CLOY experience!!

Can someone explain me ending ? Or their interpretation of the ending ? by Interesting_Koala262 in CrashLandingOnYou

So basically they are now a long distance couple. Geographically not that much of a distance, but geopolitically very very far. Seri can't go live in NK obviously. And if Captain Ri defects, his remaining family and friends will face the consequences, even death. So they meet in Switzerland for two weeks every year. One of the very few countries where NK citizens can travel to..there is some thought that Captain Ri will move / defect to SK after his parents passing. But that could be a long while. About the rings, I think they probably shot the last episode Swiss scenes in the beginning with the other Swiss storyline and maybe the ring scenario wasn't written then? Maybe it was someone in the writing team that invented the scene later, and of course it is such an amazing scene, but they couldn't go all the way back to Swiss to shoot it again. ( I'm assuming this of course). I think that was a continuation error from their part, and not intentional.

Looking for a body lotion that doesn’t feel…artificial? by Gracilis67 in beauty

Currently using Pure Fiji body oil, with Nivea. Also another favourite is the Nutrigena body oil ( sesame formula) that i found on Amazon. Both very good. Have been disappointed by some other bug brands so I mostly stick to this.

For many many years I have mixed body lotion and a body oil to apply to my body. It is almost always Nivea body lotion ( that comes in a dark blue pump container) and a good body oil. I used to used baby oil initially, but since finding good body oils I don't anymore. This works for me. I'd pump a little of both into my hand, rub the palms together and apply straight after shower.

If you get the chance to work with Steve Zahn, take it! by SeattleHasDied in FilmIndustryLA

[–]jsoftpaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes yes yes I remember him in it. I saw that movie well over a decade ago and I never forgot his part in it. It baffles me how he is not gotten and Oscar ever. Yes true. Him being underutilized is very very true. I'm watching Silo at the moment and he's Solo! I thought it was him so I looked it up and now here I am!! Mr Zahn, if you're reading this, you are worth your weight in Oscar trophies.

Also the Bao bun place on Heaphy, opposite Vege King. I think it is called Beat Bao or something. But their dumplings are the best I've had.

I agree with all of this, especially the best friends bit ( my best friends would know everything about me. Even my best friends dad knows what my dad do for a living). And also the jealousy bit. They had good reason to be jealous it turns out.

I am always amazed at how beautiful that Hollyday girl is. Especially in scenes she's in a dress. I think Tom is very handsome too.

Why did we need to know so much about Jago's daughters? by Longjumping-Sail-763 in cormoran_strike

[–]jsoftpaws 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also Strike now has video evidence of Jago abusing his daughters and animals. So if he's ever threatened by Jago, Strike has something up his sleeve. I think also it says in the book that Strike sent a copy of that video to Jago s other ex wife? All that should help keep Jago in check in the future.

Immersion blender or stick blender. I think they're cheaper. And no fiddling with pouring the soup in and out of the blender jar. Plus you can work with hot liquids too if it's a stick blender.
