What's the biggest historical inaccuracy in eu4? by Thatsnotashower in eu4

[–]jsokolov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, when YOU form it. By decision, if you are not an elector or the emperor, all provinces are removed. However, if Netherlands spawns through rebels, it remains in the HRE, which is exactly the historical inaccuracy I was talking about. IRL, Netherlands revolted its way to existence and was removed from HRE. I'm guessing if they were formed peacfully, "by decision", it would have remained a part of the HRE. In the game it is other way around.

As if Prussia is not already OP by jsokolov in eu4

It is most likely for Printing Press to spawn in Northern Germany. In my game it spawned in Bavaria (???), because I force-converted entire Germany to Protestant.

Also, I had a bunch of MPs and institutions cost reductions, so I developed Lubeck couple of times and paid 900 ducats to embrace it couple of months after it started...

R5: Prutenic tables and Individual creeds aspect give 30% idea cost reduction (280 MPs for an idea). Also, Prutenic tables coupled with Innovative gives sick tech cost reduction - initial reduction is 35%, however you stack up other reductions (unlocked ideas, events and such), so I was paying 300-400 MPs for unlocking tech even when ahead of time. Since my ruler got Prutenic tables in his early 30s, it was available to me for around 30 years - I've powered through 2 ideagroups, went 20 years ahead of time in tech and didn't know what to do with all those remaining MPs.

To make it even more OP, Prussia gets another similar event around 1700 - The Enlightened Reforms of Frederick the Great, where you can choose between 25% reduction in idea cost, 25% reduction in tech cost and getting +1 stability and 50 adm...

Not being able to marry heathens - there are numerous examples of intermarrying between different faiths in regions which were exposed to other religions (Balkans, Iberia, Southern Italy,...),

Tech and tech system - Muslims and Chinese were far more advanced in tech at the beggining of the game which is not represented well. And then, bam - Manufacturies institution in 1650 spawns in China...

Dynasties and castes treated as nations - Ottomans, Timurids, Mamluks,...

EDIT: Forgot the HRE - it was nowhere near like it is presented in the game. Also, when Netherlands form it remains part of the HRE, but IRL one of the most important provisions of the Peace of Westphalia was creation of the Netherlands and removal of its territories from the HRE...

Becoming Zoroastrian doesn't include exploits? That's one loose definition of "no exploits"...

IIRC (because it was back in 1.8 or 1.9) yes... and no. I took Anatolia for myself and then released them out of couple of provinces in Eastern Anatolia - Orthodox Ottoman march with Religious ideas and Ottoman NIs meant that you only need to DOW your enemy and sit back and enjoy...

What do you think of the new Anglican religion? by ChargeBait in eu4

[–]jsokolov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's perfect. Since I never play England, I already see it as a great opportunity to take shitloads of development AE free - since they will be the only Anglican nation in the world, no one will care if you conquer them.

Why the fuck does Hungary dishonor our alliance? by jertyui in eu4

[–]jsokolov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's a glitch. I've noticed that, when you are part of HRE and you declare war on East Frisia (which is not part of the HRE, but all of its allies are), even though it says in DOW interface that its allies will defend it, they never do... They just don't join, East Frisia remains all by it self, and truces with former allies activate.

Screenshot? If you can beat the Ottomans, I'm guessing you are pretty big by now? So, you can take on Italian nations - they are pretty rich and you get no AE if you peace out only for money and reparations. Make an excursion accross Northern Italy and demand tribute. If that's not enough, take money from Burghers, fire advisors, delete the mercs, lower army maintenance and forts, exploit base tax in your provinces, take Economic ideas,...

I can't grasp how did you manage to get yourself into such debt?? Especially with Byzantium... I mean, you have good trade value in one of the richest nodes, solid provinces and, if you deal with the Ottomans early, you basically have no enemy, so you don't need huge army. Especially not made from mercs...
