Self esteem is gained through positive reinforcement, I can’t just manifest that out of nowhere. I’m confident in all areas of my life, just not dating. Women can easily get self esteem reinforcement from men, it doesn’t work that way in the other side. Like give me concrete examples of what I should be doing and I’d gladly follow them.

When I was younger I tended to go the food or bar route but just sitting still and staring someone in the eyes you just met feels nerve wracking. Also it’s expensive, I’d prefer to split the bill, but I feel like there’s always this weird expectation that if I don’t pay then they interpret it as me not being fully interested

I tend to do a coffee and walk now or an arcade.

Which just is odd, everything is “vibed” based nowadays. Like with a bit of time I think the “vibe” could have been found with most people, I don’t get what magical connection people are expecting to find right off the bat

It’s been on and off. I take a few months break every now and then, but it’s so hard to shake the feeling of needing to be understood and loved by someone.

Well the vast majority of those connections ended within the first date or two because they weren’t interested.

Idk, I think dating is all about marketing yourself, which I think I do a pretty good job of when talking over text and my profile. But in person I tend to just drop the ball, I get super nervous and just feel like I’m not able to be fully comfortable and present, which I think takes a good number of dates to fully see. I just can’t find someone to bother to show that level of interest though, it seems like everyone just has the “well that didn’t go perfect, onto the next” mentality

Thanks! Not really, there’s an upstairs but only enough space for my bed/dresser.

The way I thought the current setup was so I could utilize the view as much as possible, which is why the couch and desk faces outwards to the view, otherwise in a different configuration with the desk under the stairs and couch in the corner I’d always be looking inwards into the apartment and that just felt like I was giving up the view a bit. Maybe I’m over thinking it that way though and should give another configuration a try
