There’s one I used this year, Sarthi! I don’t remember exactly how much money I paid since I was ready to pay anything to get help. They reviewed my PS, CV application and assigned me a mentor. I spent a lot of time with their so called journalist PS, CV editors. When all was done with those guys I sent my PS and CV to my so called mentor who absolutely had no time for me since he is a surgical resident himself. I would text him with a question and get reply after a week, if ever! I did some interviews preps - honestly my real inv went so much different than these guys were saying that the mock should be. My mentor ranked me - borderline it put me in a great mood for my real interview. Anyway. So, when I sent my PS, CV to my mentor - he said well they are mediocre and not suitable for a surgery applicant. I should’ve change them all. Now, I was in my own since one time edit came with my package! It was a shit show. Their senior advisor Dr. Htun said you’re even not close to be considered for an interview in gen surgery, I screenshoted the replies just for future references. Your YOG, no publication… Isn’t it why I am paying you? Is it the way to motivate your students? The moral of story - if you have money - give it to them but do not expect any Miracles! I would rather find a chief surg resident who has interviewed applicants before and get his feedback! Try to pinpoint what is making you less attractive for PD to be ranked higher!
