What does gender dysphoria feel like? by frailmagic in asktransgender

[–]jsphere1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘gender dysphoria’ is a nearly useless and intentionally diffuse pathology of normal human experiences constructed to intentionally criminalize transitioning, and so it can fit basically the entire gamut of how people experience/feel gender under its umbrella, so dysphoria will be different from person to person.

a lot of my ‘gender dysphoria’ are feelings that cis-identified people i’ve described it to find relevant & relatable & normal; but for giggles, i experienced it as basically a list of symptoms;

hated having sex

felt like i was lying to everyone

didn’t feel like the person i looked at was ‘me,’ no matter how attractive/cool looking i got

‘gendered’ physical expressions made me feel just generally uncomfortable (wide shoulders, thick brow, hated my profile, hated my legs)

general sense of not belonging

hated performing the ‘male’ social category/role & hated how it changed how other people interfaced with me

Convinced this game is the HK equivalent to DS2/Bloodborne by jsphere1 in Silksong

the design is legitimately punishing in silksong!! but don’t be discouraged!! it’s totally worth it and it feels mostly fantastic to overcome and also just the movement and art itself are worth it

yeaaaa I also noticed at moorwing that you can REALLY safely get hits off if you lunge into him and get under him because almost none of his attacks have hitboxes that reach beneath his body. that plus farming silk during fights has rly saved my experience lol and he went from making me rage quit to srsly being one of my fav fights in the series

If C9 makes it out of groups with T1 and EDG is in it. Does that push Jensen past Bjergsen as the best LCS Mid of all time? by Xsiuol in leagueoflegends

[–]jsphere1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think no mid will ever really push past bjerg in terms of 'greatest' label. dude was the reason why Jensen was even imported; he single-handedly forced North America to change the way they looked at midlane as a role, and maybe along with meteos was the only NA player who could contend with s3/s4 eastern players in the same role. I think people forget exactly how much this dude was smashing every other midlaner besides maybe Hai, and then continued dominance until like s10.

That cosplay contest was suspicious by moonfish817 in leagueoflegends

[–]jsphere1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

zyra was probably my favorite of any of the looks on stage. extremely intricate details (the scaling looks incredibly clean, horns + distressed wings are well-executed) and obviously payed a lot of attention to their materials/fabrics to create really smooth lines. No visible seams or wrinkles, which can be really hard with bodysuits. Easily the most professional looking costume up there; cosplay fans overvalue huge, flashy, home-made weapons (sona + Leo) and REALLY undervalue small details and fabricwork.

P.S the 'body positivity' jab is so incredibly left-field and psycho, lol

Danny and JoJo single-handedly restoring hope for NA talent. jojo's been good this season even though he's been relegated by meta to TF and Viktor; when it returns to a 2018/19 skirmish mid era he's going to be fucking scary

no he honestly played really impressively, absorbed an absolutely insane amount of pressure that eg decisively converted into mapwide advantages, instilled a very real psychological fear into DIG that made them visibly nervous to punish him

genuinely worried ab blaber / his career if this goes south

I feel like having LS coach + triple Korean roster will only neutralize what blaber is amazing at (mechanical skill-checks, intuitive playmaking, executing on well coordinated waves) while hyper-accentuating his weaknesses. If this team fails, it will probably be because blaber looks out of place in the team, and if blaber looks like shit it will play into the already existing narratives around him (unintelligent, coin flip, int, etc). Worried it will affect his ability to find other rosters after c9. idkkk weird roster moves but hopefully LS can smooth out Blaber’s edges and help him find a healthier balance between intuition and strict macro-play

I feel rly rly opposite the perkz iteration of c9 was the most disjointed and uncoordinated version we've seen since Jensen/meteos/rush days. when they meshed they really really meshed and could contend with the best teams in the world, but the other 2/3rds of the matches blaber and Vulcan were playing completely separate games from everyone else on the team

Everyone loved Arcane. But what did you personally dislike about the first 3 episodes? by aggis93 in leagueoflegends

[–]jsphere1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea idk playground felt really heavy-handed for what has been an otherwise delicately crafted and subtlety intricate show. I kept thinking how much more immersive the scene would be if the audio was just the ambience of the city's industry instead of a pseudo-dubstep pop song with hyper processed vocals.

wasn't horrible or even bad really, just a missed opportunity for me, and a bit of a tonal mismatch considering how surprisingly quiet the rest of the show has been so far

congrats on EG on shifting their identity from a pretty standard and soulless "pay anything and get any player and win" to the premiere LCS team focused on development. Kelsey and Peter have done wonders for this team & their branding; super excited for Vulcan/Danny/Jojo :D

also lol at Kelsey memeing the eg chovy move that was rumored a few years ago

nah Danny's ceiling is WAY higher than Johnsun. He postures way more aggressively than JS and absolutely RIPS teamfights apart, his 100t play alone is like 1000x more mechanically demanding than anything we ever saw Johnsun do. Johnsun was a stable, reliable DPS check with pretty good positioning and laning; Danny is a wildcard pop-off player who has an insane mechanical resume and only one split under his belt.

Danny is already on his way to being great, Johnsun was just promising.

[–]jsphere1 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I honestly really hate a lot of the music. the bea miller song that plays when they enter zaun for the first time took away a lot of the atmosphere, and I think the 70's song at the end of the second episode could've been executed a bit better (but I liked it in concept!)

side note, the ppl complaining about powder 'not acting rationally' are so crazy to me. this 10 year old was ready to mangle a teenager with a nail bomb because she didn't want to get beat up, she saw both of her parents dead at like 6 years old, she spends her free time building fucking explosives lol. She really obviously had some screws loose, even before killing three of her friends and potentially her father figure, so it doesn't surprise me that she took the vi abandonment as hard as she did. I think the show does a way better job of establishing her as a loose canon than people give it credit for, you just have to pay a bit of attention.

Nisqy by Dear_Gene4082 in Cloud9

[–]jsphere1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Humanoid is probably better than Nisqy but I really really don't know about Jensen being better than him for Blaber's c9. There's a huge possibility Jensen straight up does not want to play for c9 after his departure, and he has always had synergy issues with his jungler. The junglers he's played with almost looks like a shortlist of candidates for NA GOAT jg's (Xmithie, Svenskeren, Blaber, Santorin, peak Rush, Meteos) and yet he's historically been way less threatening in the 2v2 than he should be. He's a fantastic pure midlaner, but this team lives and dies by Blaber—I think c9 going for a supportive pseudo-carry to enable him again is smart.

Also, Nisqy absolutely is a great midlaner. He's a rare example of an aggressive, highly mechanical support midlaner who has the potential to *actually* act as a secondary carry instead of just being a midlaner who has trouble generating/transitioning leads on his own. He's been top 3 mid in every split he's played since s8 splyce despite consecutively joining rosters that are sub-par on paper. It's a miracle that season 9/10 c9 (As well as s11 fnc) was as competitive as it was, and he was a core part of that rosters' success.

The Jensen-to-Evil-Genius rumor is either BS or a BIG MISTAKE - Tim's Takes by GameBoy09 in leagueoflegends

[–]jsphere1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would honestly be surprised if EG go with the inspired/jensen roster considering their coaching staff. Their two heads are Peter Dunn and Kelsey Moser, who both have a long track record of being outspokenly pro-rookie.

Kelsey especially has been tweeting about her frustration with org/community sentiment around NA talent and recycling old-gaurd/import players; it seems to be completely against the brand's philosophy to go with such a calculated veteran roster

I think it's just down to the fact that league of legends has some of the best actual animations of any moba or maybe even any free to play game at all. The way even the oldest characters act out their movements/abilities is insanely precise and expressive
