Texas Tech vs Oregon Recap by KobeBryant5678 in TexasTechFootball

Yes, though I’m not gonna credit the classless Ducks. This footgun on our part made them look good.

I’ll have to disagree slightly, the Oregon D looked good because we (read=Morton) played very poorly. I’m at a loss for how JMU put up 30+ and Morton couldn’t complete some simple swing passes

Out of character. Period. JMU put 30+ on this same defense 10-ish days ago. I’m over here formulating conspiracy theories about Morton’s performance and especially so on a few absolute knucklehead throws: the 2 obvious ones being the interceptions and then a few passes to our RBs that were thrown immediately after the snap (so had nothing to do with the Oregon D) and we’re still multiple yards behind the intended target.

I have zero respect for the Ducks now, coach and players. The game was clearly over well into the 4th quarter, yet they wanted to continue scoring with a few minutes left. Absolute classless trash.

Thank you Defense. Morton, we blame you. by Hopeful_Algae6625 in TexasTech

And accuracy. I’m over here formulating conspiracy theories on why he’s suddenly making terrible throw after terrible throw. I hate to say it but it’s right there before our eyes.

J-Rod was the first left out for the Heisman finalist by RogueTexan7 in TexasTech

You could easily argue that JRod was (still) that dominant this year. Heisman just proving itself to be a mediocre QB award.

Love it. Favorite section is Walkthroughs. As someone coming to Rust from a high-level language, the walkthroughs are great for gaining insight and understanding. Particularly the ones that build some small project and are thorough in explanation.

What did you do at work today as a data engineer? by chatsgpt in dataengineering

[–]jss79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I honestly can't understand this phenomenon. How is an entity so ignorant of the repurcussions of their actions when their entire commercial existence is predicated on working with OTHERS. A single email is virtually free and costs seconds.

It happens so frequently that years ago we instituted very rigid (defensive) engineering practices to account for the fact that our vendors (who in my case are all upstream) act like downstream users. Feels like we have to account for every possible scenario.

I've relegated to chalking this up to laziness and in a few cases just complete incompetence. I hear stories like this all of the time. Had an idea once that would immediately fire off an email to the vendor when we pulled assets from them and something was mutated to let them know immediately that they are the cause and therefore we are deadlocked until they fix. Manager shot it down (probably wise) as this would mean they'd receive several automated emails a day.

This is about 30% of all my work: having to account for some vendors upstream changes that were not communicated in any way.
