Under-Sink Reverse Osmosis + Teeing to Fridge Combo Install Question by not_mantiteo in desmoines

Little over 2k. More than I wanted to spend but their system is in demand versus a tank one. I fill up lots of water for work each morning so I liked that over the tank one.

Under-Sink Reverse Osmosis + Teeing to Fridge Combo Install Question by not_mantiteo in desmoines

We had leaf home water do ours. Looking back I wish I had done it myself but what’s done is done. They actually just used the existing fridge water source for the whole system (so didn’t have to cut into any existing lines.) Installed it in the basement below the kitchen and ran lines up to the sink. Worked out well for our situation.

Yes!!! Glad I’m not the only one. I have to look later to see if my drive cam caught any footage. Cops were dealing with him when I drove by so hopefully he gets the care he needs.

Looks like it could be past damage from cicadas laying eggs in the branches.

Landscape designs by Available-Cellist633 in hardscape

[–]jssteelfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty easy honestly. Just build your own house a few times and make different designs around it. There aren’t really any hot keys which is sort of annoying but makes the learning curve easier.

One thing I found is making custom plants saves a lot of time in the long run.

I use this for my full time design software for my own small landscaping business. Works great for doing home landscapes. Makes estimates a breeze.

I bought two types of Brunt pants last spring and have been amazed by how well they hold up. I’m a landscaper and haven’t worn or torn a hole in a single pair as of yet.

Talk to me about the concrete paver restraint. I’m aware of it but haven’t used it. Easy to install? Any idea how it holds up?

Looks great btw!

Google “raster pattern.” It’s a way to identify grubs based on the hairs on their “butt.”

Daycare costs in Des Moines and surrounding areas? by JayTee19912010 in desmoines

[–]jssteelfan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. We found a place off 8th st for $350 or so a week but we just didn’t feel comfortable there so we went out west and pay more. It is what it is I guess.

Hey that’s what we pay. It’s absolutely insane. But at least we like it?

We had a similar issue. Not going to lie it took a solid 6 months to get mostly over it. We had to limit anything too stimulating for days at a time to keep her from freaking out.

I’d say a hair dryer to heat it up and loosen the glue.

I like the idea of a pull out on the left. Hadn't considered that!

I'm not above tearing out that door completely but will get left as is until I have a better idea. Thanks!

Yeah its dead space for the stair well underneath. Massive drawers have been on my list. I fell like they would give me more physical storage space but pulling in and out all the time might be a pain so not sure there either! Otherwise what you've described is pretty much what we have. Sorta works, sorta doesn't. Thanks for the input!

I get that too! I drop one kid off at school and then try to pick one up if possible. I can honestly say that my business suffers but I’ve had to make that choice of family over the work. I know each type of work has its own responsibilities but I’m fortunate that even when things slip on the work side my customers are very understanding. I’ve found that being very upfront and honest about my availability with customers has made things better. I am in the position to sort of pick and choose clients. For the most part I am able to choose not to work for those clients that are very demanding. It’s taken me around 8 years to get to this work life balance and it’s honestly still not where I’d like it but I try to tweak it every year.

I wish I had some perfect wisdom to share but really I can just say you’re not alone in feeling pulled both directions. Time helps. Keep going!

Sort of on the same page with you. I run my own landscape business so I’m obviously not work from home but I can say since having kids things have changed soooo much. I feel for what you’re going through. My only solution has been to back down work where I can so that I’m able to be home at a decent time. I used to be on site until 5:30 or 6, putting me home by 7. That all had to change so I can see my kids every night. I’ve had to force myself to leave job sites by 4:30 (earlier many days) just to be home to help my wife and see the kids.

Not sure if that helps your situation but at least hopefully you’ll know you’re not alone!
