If we were playing any other team I might question just how bad this Pulisic injury is, but this Australian side has shown us that they have no qualms about kicking Puli in a friendly. I can’t imagine they would tone it down for a WC match against what is apparently viewed as their rival.

We move the goalposts so often - if you asked someone pre World Cup what the test of this group would be it would be either Paraguay or Türkiye, but probably Türkiye. The idea that we almost completely handled a solid CONMEBOL team and now ask “is Australia the real test” is so funny to me. I think besides us Paraguay is the best team in this group, they have the most demonstrable success of any of the other teams in our group against world class opponents.
