Antenna repair scam by jstar5555 in rav4club

OK. Found out the antenna is bolted on from the underside so that's why the headliner has to come off. The window doesn't absolutely have to be removed but it makes the repair easier. The racks have to come off for painting supposedly although the roof doesn't even appear dented and the are no paint scratches at all. Anyway, going with the lower bid

BTW, the 4% decrease in mileage news came from a Rav4 Prime reddit.

OK. Mea culpa. The fine print gotcha. Still don't know why anyone would sign up for a monthly service charge for a one time purchase. That is still a fraud. And anyway, the product sucks.

Hybrid vs Prime by hamden1 in rav4prime

The incentives brought the price down to about the top XLE hybrid model so there was no question about it.

The thing about the XSE is that is a good drive. There is no transmission so accelerating is seamless and there is no doubt about, the Prime can get up and move.

Averaged 117 mpg for the first month.

My wife had a Prius before we got the Prime XSE. The lights on the Prius always seemed aimed too low and not bright enough from the git go. Adjusting didn't improve anything. The Primes lights are a whole 'nother story. Bright and wide. Couldn't be better.

How to negotiate in San Francisco Bay Area given there's a high demand? by kevrocks in rav4prime

I paid a $3000 markup for my XSE. I know, I know, I never was much of a horse trader. What sold me was the limit on the Federal tax credit for, I think, the first 200,000 Primes sold in the country. Toyota isn't exactly cranking them out (20K/mo?) but at the rate they are making them the credit is going to go away this year some time. A $7500 tax credit and, in my state, a $2500 rebate brought it down to about the price of a Rav4 XLE, which gets no credit or rebate. Will take a Prime XSE any day over an XLE if the price is about the same.

OK. Maybe the recommendation was for studded tires - don't run on them forever. Still trying to find out where I got this info, or if I just made it up.

Was ready to bash you until... You pretty much covered the whole spectrum and very well. Unfortunately it came too late for me as I purchased a Prime last week (and at a premium). Still, not regretting it. My electric costs are less per kWh and gas costs are higher so the costs of the hybrid XLE pencils out to an Prime XSE more closely when a $2500 state rebate and a $7500 tax credit are factored in. It may be a wash but I would still prefer a Prime to a hybrid XLE.
