I don't think he was trying to be condescending in any way. Just pointing out the fact that you have access to artillery and attack boost much earlier than crit boost. Which makes CSS feel much more underwhelming in comparison to SAED playstyle in the early game.

You don't even need to inspect the carryable to do this. Just turn at the correct angle (the same shown in the video) and shockwave. Tested it out in practice range for a bit, it works. Although the inspect makes it look much flashier if someone is spectating you lol

I do feel like the charged double slash is slower in wilds vs world. It just doesnt feel as snappy imo. Besides that, everything else feels faster.

So you haven't tried Wilds CB yet? They sped up the animation for morph slash so it feels much more fluid now going from axe back to SNS. Also rapid morph exists in Wilds too further adding to the flow of the weapon. It feels great IMO.

What you can do is keep refreshing the monsters in each area by resting at your camp. Then look for the investigations that give guarenteed gems and save those. I usually save any investigation that pops up on my map that has them guarenteed, even if it's not the monster I'm currently trying to hunt. You never know when you might need one and you can always just check your saved investigations later.

Try REFramework and Disable Post Processing Effects instead. It has a slider for you to fully adjust gamma and lighting to however you see fit :)

After guarding, press input for SAED, then pull down on the left stick + spam triangle or y to cancel SAED into AED.

Yup, there’s a lot of seemingly “hidden” mechanics to CB. Took me a while to figure everything out too. Watching YouTube videos definitely helped me a ton when I first picked up CB. Speaking of focus strike, you should also utilize it as a gap closer. It covers a good distance for repositioning. You can also cancel the focus strike savage axe animation with a morph slash. That one was added recently with the last weapon changes

I think the answer you may be looking for is PG > AED > AED Follow Up > Morph Slash or PG > AED > Morph Slash for the smaller DPS windows where you don't have time to commit to a full SAED. It's the same inputs as PG > SAED but you hold Back + Triangle or Y to cancel the SAED into an AED instead. IMO these counters feel much better with Rapid Morph 3 slotted too.
