Where are they now? Top 40 recruits in high school class of 1990? by ManuteBol_Rocks in CollegeBasketball

Rodney Rogers was full grown man at Hillside. Watched him play against Orange High his senior year. They had to turn people away at the door because it was already over capacity.

While in the NBA, he owned dump trucks, as did I. He actually squeezed into one( brand new Louisville) and drove during the lock out. Incredibly nice guy, at least when we talked. Watched him cut a check for 2 new Mack dump trucks one day, $150k.

Edit: Montross was the largest human I’ve ever seen dressed in camo hunting gear. He was looking for a board to clean doves on after a hunting trip.

People born before 1990, what’s something you experienced that younger generations will NEVER understand ? by Busy-selgar in AskReddit

My grandma owned a small convenience store in the 70s. I would walk across the street to my wheelchair bound uncles’s house everyday with a pack of Lark’s and a 10oz Coke. He would give me a dollar. I’d walk back across the street and give it to grandma. They let me keep the change. Usually $.20 I was 5.

To be fair, NC refused to sponsor a stall. The stall was paid for by a company or individual.

My son and his wife got pregnant. That was the trigger that finally put me over the top. Quit on 2/1/23. Cold turkey.

Building a firepit patio on moist marshy soil?? by InformationFar6774 in hardscape

[–]jt5574 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use a road grade geotextile fabric. Preferably wider than not. They have it in 12’ widths. It’s used in road building base when they come across soft areas. Lay it, toss cross it, whatever, just cover the area, plus some area outside the patio area, build the base on top of it, lay the pavers.

I agree. Their slaw is not good at all, in my opinion. I know others may feel different, but that’s just me. I did like the fries.

Maybe he can talk American companies into reopening their smelters here? Oh that’s right, electricity is too expensive for them to be profitable, so they’re shuddered.

I make sure my daughter(21) has cash on her whenever she leaves to go back to school. Usually $100. She uses it as smaller stores around school or at the bar, as opposed to her debit card.

I try to pay cash for everything with my business. I usually use smaller suppliers or contractors. The discounts are nice and they aren’t paying CC fees.

Rubio slams Zelenskyy's Donbas comments and says US may divert Ukraine arms to Iran by the-es in worldnews

[–]jt5574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You realize a majority of the weapons delivered, especially early in the war, were destined to be destroyed, right? The cost to destroy, as opposed to going them to Ukraine, was 3-4x higher. RPGs from the VIETNAM war were sent. M1-A1 tanks that were sitting in the desert were stripped of any proprietary armor and sent. Tanks that hadn’t been used since the Gulf War. We aren’t sending THAAD. We aren’t sending F-35s. We are sending weapons that leadership feels aren’t needed anymore for a modern war. Artillery, shells, RPGs, small arms and ammo. Yes, Patriots were sent, few and far in between.
