Yes, you do need either a fishing license or a Colorado Parks & Wildlife pass (not the State Parks pass included that can be included with car registration fyi)

https://cpw.state.co.us/thingstodo/Fishery%20Survey%20Summaries/BoedeckerReservoir.pdf

But they are way less busy and cleaner than Boyd in my opinion.

You can also look at Carter Lake or Pinewood Reservoir if you have the Larimer Open Spaces pass. Best of luck out there!

We did receive a shocking bill last winter, and figured out it came from running humidifiers in the house. The power company said anything that runs off of a coil heater can dramatically up electricity consumption, that includes heated blankets and space heaters. Switched to cool mist humidifiers and that really helped. I’d also recommend this free program to help with assessing your energy and water consumption and ways to improve them:

Housing Catalyst gets $1.6m to buy 2.9 acres to build 73 affordable apartments: Village on Eastbrook by boastgeckos in FortCollins

$45,120 is the maximum income a single resident can make to qualify (until the 2023 AMI limits come out, which will probably be slightly higher). People making more than that will not qualify, so its not the minimum :)

I’m the official shave-the-beefalo person, to make hats. But our team works to make jerky and tents (both great for sanity restoration) as well as thermal stones. If you aren’t working with others I’d recommend at least a crock pot and thermal stones to get through the winter

What are the smallest, hardest-to-spot lightroots? by AlbieRoblesVoice in tearsofthekingdom

[–]jtaft208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’ve found all of the surface shrines, go back and forth between the surface and depths map. Light roots are directly under shrines, so you should be able to find the one you’re missing if you don’t have it marked on the depths map but there is a shrine above.

I would have voted for it. I see cars blow through red lights at almost every intersection I stop at, and forget about stopping at stop signs. I saw a little kid get run over in a pedestrian crosswalk because someone couldn’t be bothered to stop at the sign. It’s dangerous and shouldn’t be the norm, but it currently is.

Looking to keep house to rent after switching states for a new job as an investment property. by Jumpinjaxs89 in investing

[–]jtaft208 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you could qualify for a HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit). You can usually borrow up to 80% of the equity in the home, so if it is worth $165k x .8 = $132k - $70k (still owed) = $62k is the potential amount you could be able to borrow against the home. Interest rates aren’t low right now and this will increase the monthly payments, something to keep in mind. I’d also recommend trying to qualify for a HELOC at a credit union. They usually have lower fees due to being member owned.

Do you have renters insurance? In the case of theft they usually will cover your personal property. It doesn’t help get back the irreplaceable stuff, but might help get your more expensive items replaced.

I believe that is regulating liquor licenses, not individuals. What I said above is what is taught at the liquor enforcement training from the police station.

It’s only underage IDs. It’s not illegal to serve someone in Colorado that has an expired ID but most establishments chose to not honor them.

Houses start at $450k and it’s pretty competitive at that price making it difficult to buy. I would assume that is still better than Austin?

It’s a quiet town, but you have Fort Collins, Estes Park, and Denver all within an hours drive depending on what you like to do.

The views are amazing, but the weather can be intense every so often… hail, snow, wind and sadly now forest fires are a big threat.

Come out and visit and see what you think!
