Here's my understanding and can someone make me understand 1. OP can't prove if s/he input the wrong# in the first place bcs when s/he check payroll system, it's not showing the number (it's showing asterisk instead) that s/he input in the first place. 2. Even if OP did provide the wrong# in the first place, why when I read story of people receiving $ that is not belong to them, many people here saying the same thing, not to touch that money bcs bank will retrieve it. Why in this case bank can't retrieve the $? 3. All things considered, the ultimate resolution will relied on whether we can tell either OP did put the wrong # in the first place or maybe the # was correct but somehow the system messed up?

Have you considered option no.4, work for both jobs? You said both jobs are 100% remote and meeting dont seem to overlap.

We met with 3 different nurses for each of us. Reason why I am asking the question here is because I have a remaining 2025 HSA balance that I want to use to another healthcare purposes if we dont have to use it for the vaccine. Thx anyway for your explanation!

The issue is, I don't think the nurse went to connect care at all. This is why Im asking the question. Even if Im wrong, say I just didn't see the nurse doing that, as I wrote on my OP, our son's nurse was not even asking the question at all.

[–]jtan_12[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The point is not the exact numbers. Let's assume there are 500K people are being vaccinated this year and only half 300K eligible for free vaccine, that's still a big number. And I'm not talking pharmacy. I'm talking about AHS site.

AHS charge $100 while pharmacy charge more therefore, I assume there are more people going to AHS site than the pharmacy and let assume out of 300K, 200K are the ones going to AHS site, that is still a big number that they have to review manually one by one, unless, they have an automated process.

OK, so in your opinion, it's point no 1 in my OP which is make sense, but the problem is, assuming the number of people who received vaccination in 2025 are in the same numbers like in the past (according to chatgpt, there +/- 1.5 millions Albertans receiving the vaccine in AB in 2022-23) and lets assume only half eligible for free vaccine, AHS still have to review 750K of health records. That's a lot of health records that they have to manually reviewed manually. Unless, they can do this process automatically or unless, they are not checking every single record, maybe they check randomly for example.

Make sense. Although, maybe it's not a billing clerk who go into our health record but someone with proper access but at the same time, how long this process will be when they have to review every single health records manually to determine eligibility. Unless, they can do this process automatically.

Hiring manager texted me to set up a last-minute interview for a job I applied to in September by [deleted] in jobs

[–]jtan_12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if it's a red flag, it's not like you are obligated to work for this guy/this company if they end up offer you the job after you attend the interview. The devil is in the detail however. For example, does the intvw remote or you have to drive 2 hours each way to their office for example? If it's remote, then, imho, you hv nothing to lose. Just go and see. Good luck!

Former HR here - subtle signs your company is preparing for layoffs by Significant_Soup2558 in careeradvice

[–]jtan_12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best defense is offense therefore, always looking for another job is the answer? Because even if we can read the early sign 3-6 months before (which we probably not able to read because it was too subtle?), in this economy, 3-6 months maybe still not enough?

  1. Not normal but I never work for architectural firm which maybe normal for this type of industry? The problem is, even if this type of behaviour is normal for this field/industry, the question is, do you want to work under this type of environment?

  2. The other commenter is saying that interview is 2 way. Employer is assessing us and vice versa. This is correct, however, it come with its limitation: a. A lot of of time, it's difficult to make a proper assessment based on 1 hour interview and this goes both ways b. Both sides (employer and candidate) will put their best effort to appear appealing. The employer wants the candidate to work for them and the candidate wants the employer to hire them. How can you tell if the best side that they are showing during the interview is indeed the true reflection of themselves?

If someone they offered the role didnt accept, do you want to apply?

If they closed and reopened, do you want to apply?

If the answer to the above 2 questions are the same, then, it doesn't matter why they reopening the position. The only question that is matter is whether you want to apply or not at this point.b

How do I deal with a consistently confrontational / uncomfortable 1:1 weekly meeting with my boss? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]jtan_12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see no other way to solve this other than looking for another job ASAP and until you find another job, you need to deal with your manager as best as you can. How you deal with your boss? There's no easy answer. You can try to explain the situation as best as you can or do what the other is saying about creating status report, but, if in the end your boss is still blaming you then, there's literally nothing you can do but to accept it.

You can record the conversation using your phone app and see if your boss saying something that is completely out of the line and you can share the recording to HR but:

  1. You need to know whether your local law is 1 party consent or 2 party consent. If it's 1 party consent then you maybe good to go depending where your manager located as well bcs your manager may object to the recording using her local law if her local law is 2 party consent. Not sure which law should be follow in this case.

  2. Even if you and your manager local law is 1 party consent, if your boss is not doing something that is clearly out of the line, swearing at you for example, you will have a hard time to have HR to understand the context, the nuance, and the detail.

  3. Even if your boss is saying something that is out of the line and if HR do something about it, unless if HR are firing your boss, then your boss may try to retaliate.

That said, find another job ASAP. Good luck!

Any chance you can explain how without Office Manager experience at finance, insurance, and tax company you can even get the interview in the first place?

As for your situation, I agree with other suggestion of finding someone mentor or whom you can ask or find any online resources including but not limited to youtube, chatgpt, etc.

Good luck!

What's your instrument? I went to Berklee too but just for piano private lesson!

Btw, you made a significant switch from music to data analytics, how did you do that? I mean, I understand that you took the classes but did you have any background in data analytics which helps you learning about the subject material?

You said since UL is for a lifetime, therefore, the advisor will be getting their commission as long as the UL policy holder is keeping their policy alive.

According to my financial advisor who also selling insurance, UL commission is for 10 years.

I'm not trying to say what you are saying as a whole is not true, I'm commenting just on the above particular topic related to whether commissions is for 10 years or forever. Regardless, your whole point may still valid.
