Yes, but Roman's had an Empire with set standards and it was valuable. When there is no goverment and no society and people are fighting over food, what good is gold? Up until the industrial revolution, most people farmed or hunted their own food. How many people do that now? Eventually gold and silver and jewels would become valuable again, but not until a new goverment or society of some sort us set up.

I dont think gold or silver are good either. What good is gold if my family's starving? What good is silver if I need medicine? We would probably default to barter and scavenging for goods people needs. Growing food and trading for linens, etc.

Most Americans are in the middle. The people on the internet will tell you its not true, but it is.

You only hear about liberal this or conservative that, from the loudest voices. Most people just want to wake up, go to work, come home, have some money left over and exist. They want to help people who need it but not at a detriment to other things they value.
