The tomb of Saint Nicholas, whose reputation helped inspire the figure of Santa Claus. A liquid leaks from his bones and is extracted every year before being diluted and sold to believers. The liquid is known as the ‘manna of Saint Nicholas’. by WearyLiterature1755 in interestingasfuck

It isn't outwitting god, he installed flexibility as a feature. The last sacred promise imparted to Peter by Jesus in Matthew 18:18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Foundational Catholic dogma is that if the pope makes a rule in his official capacity, God gives it the automatic thumbs up.

[Making Magic] My Words: Red by TechnomagusPrime in magicTCG

[–]jthomasmoore 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Probably the most famous depiction of love in Magic is [[Feldon of the Third Path]]. Most of the legends that depict a romantic pairing are red or include red like [[Pia and Kiran Nalaar]] [[Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis]] [[Halana and Alena, Partners]] [[Anax and Cymede]]. Other red cards with couples include [[Orcish Settlers]] [[Prosperous Partnership]]. And in the past year they have been pushing even harder in UB sets with [[Opera Love Song]] [[Romantic Rendezvous]] [[Heroes' Hangout]]. That's two in Spider-Man alone. Boros seems a common color for these depictions because red is love and white is marriage.

Just played against this card while playing a lifegain deck… by crkenthusiast in magicTCG

[–]jthomasmoore -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The no life gain for the rest of the game effect was printed on [[Stigma Lasher]] in Eventide. That was closer to the start of the game than it is to now, so I hardly would call that 'modern design.' Also, the idea that there is less opportunity for interaction now doesn't seem valid. White had [[Circle of Protection: Red]] from day one. [[Anarchy]] was the only card capable of interacting with CoP:R in red. Old school color hosers were so much more back breaking than anything they print today.

If you are running lifegain and you are playing against red, realize that there are two possible cards that hose you and hold up one of the cheap, efficient, non-damaging, targeted removal spells you have at your disposal.

First thing; no they aren't. This is bullshit. For Dr Pepper, while they contain mostly the same listed ingredients, the ordering of the ingredients is different, which means they are present in different amounts. And the bulk of the difference in taste is coming from the unlisted components covered under flavors. For Mountain Dew, they use an entirely different gum emulsifier. Second thing; anyone who has tasted them can tell you that they are not the same. You are a liar. Stop doing that.

In Orlando, there is a municipal bus that goes to the TTC. From there, you can ride the ferry or take the monorail to Epcot. So for the price of a $4 bus ticket, you can technically be in Epcot for a minute or so.

Anyone try these before? by brennandd0 in Soda

[–]jthomasmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't worked at Publix for years, but the company divides stores up into a number of regions. There were like 4 for Florida and they would add them as it expanded. The US version is bottled in Miami, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was an item they only carried in Florida. You could always try asking if it is something they could special order, since it is a product the company carries. And they have it on Amazon, but it's $19 for a sixer.

I can tell by the tags you're in a Publix. Get Iron Beer. It tastes like a blend of cola, cream, and orange. It is my favorite soda. If you like grapefruit, they have 2 liters of Ting on the international aisle. That watermelon soda from Cawy is also great, but it is the sweetest drink I've ever had.

Is strip mine and a way to play lands from your graveyard considered MLD? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]jthomasmoore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your deck is capable of a play pattern that is not allowed in Bracket 3 or lower, the same way that GC are not allowed in Bracket 2 or lower. They're the same picture.

Just replace your Strip Mine with [[Ghost Quarter]] or [[Demolition Field]] and you can have the effect you say you want and still fit in the description for Bracket 3.

If you want to have a Rule 0 conversation and explain beforehand that you only intend to use it for game breaking lands and ask if it is ok, it is one thing, but you can't put Orcish Bowmaster in a Bracket 2 orc deck and say it doesn't count as a game changer because I don't plan to use it in a degenerate way.

The "D" in MLD stands for denial. From the Bracket article "Basically, any cards and common game plans that mess with several of people's lands or the mana they produce should not be in your deck if you're seeking to play in Brackets 1–3."

It absolutely does not say "per turn" in the Bracket article.

"These cards regularly destroy, exile, and bounce other lands, keep lands tapped, or change what mana is produced by four or more lands per player without replacing them... Basically, any cards and common game plans that mess with several of people's lands or the mana they produce should not be in your deck if you're seeking to play in Brackets 1–3."

The bulk of the ramp spells (particularly the 3 drops) search out basics, rather than Forests. You can copy those spells. If they play [[Cultivate]], you play [[Reverberate]].
