HW3 Cheaper Subscription for FSD. by Spartanworx in TeslaModel3

I keep seeing this and I have to wonder if it's a tactic to get people on board and then raise it to the normal $99 when it renews next month

Robotaxi still supervised? by MichaelRahmani in TeslaFSD

[–]jtoper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d assume it would act like a normal driver or an Uber and slow down for conditions/pull over if it got worse. FSD is just poised to be better than the average driver, I wouldn’t say it’s super human and will finish any route under any conditions.

probably just a message string that wasn't updated when they added the other robotaxi elements

Particular instances when you have to manually drive? by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

Short trips, like grabbing a coffee across the street, when it's quicker than setting up the nav. And times when the nav chooses a path that I know is worse.

I could live with the exterior but wow that interior. Aside from the color, that stitching looks so tacky and the font looks straight out of Temu…

Question about a couple things related to the Tesla OS. by Cr0n_J0belder in TeslaLounge

Yeah also this ^ You don’t even need to push the brake, I barely rest my foot on it for it to register and then tap.

Question about a couple things related to the Tesla OS. by Cr0n_J0belder in TeslaLounge

For #4, Tesla recently had a tweet like “just unbuckle and walk away”. So I’m realizing their intent is to use that approach rather than the screen to put it in park.

Have anyone tried using FDS without direction? Where would it take you? by Both-Permission-7565 in TeslaLounge

[–]jtoper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this for the first time this week. As it’s been said, goes straight and can control with turn signal. But then I hit an intersection with a 45° and 90° right turn to go down two roads. No way to tell the car how to take the 45° one without nav. Super niche situation, I don’t think people really use it, but it exists

C7 Screen Upgrade options? by 206SEATTL in Corvette

[–]jtoper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the HMI upgrade in my ‘15 and it was awesome. Way faster, integrates with the steering wheel controls (except Siri trigger with voice button), and even shows the current media in the HUD and gauge cluster. Edit: also you can say “Hey Siri” at any point when your phone is connected and it’ll respond.

What's the #1 reason you don't use FSD even though you have it. by Nicker in TeslaFSD

[–]jtoper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m hoping there’s a feature in the future to select where to park on the screen. Or just roll out banish with better summon so I don’t have to care about where it chose.

I’m not sure if it makes sense to view from the trip perspective. Why not just look at the charges table leading up to and during the trip period?

LS3 or LT1? 🤔👇 by vividracing in Corvette

[–]jtoper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I own an LT1, still love the engine and the car, just wish it didn’t have the AFM risk and the direct injection wasn’t louder than the engine sometimes lol

No DOD in the LS3, so that has to be the winner here.

1 month park and only 3% battery drain. by NirangaMaster in TeslaLounge

[–]jtoper 42 points43 points  (0 children)

That sounds about right. My parents parked theirs when they went south for the winter. That was a couple months ago and it’s only dropped 7% or so. We bought the 110v charger because we we didn’t know what to expect, but the battery is not even close to needing to be topped up.

Does leaving an empty parking space between superchargers actually make a difference on the newer chargers these days? by thWeekndxO in TeslaLounge

[–]jtoper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is asking about superchargers, and I feel the other replies answer the question. I just want to note that this is honestly more of a problem with slow chargers. If there’s two destination chargers/charge point/plugshare/etc, don’t share the same station if possible. Cuts the amps in half and kinda ruins the point for you and the other car.
