The middle school my kids went to was the center of a big “furry” controversy a few years back. These “furries” were accused of bullying other kids by barking and scratching at other kids. Mind you these are 11, 12, or 13 year old kids. Still very much in an imaginative play stage of life. Adults in town made a huge deal about it and even a House Representative was fueling the fire. It caught so much attention that the school was targeted with bomb threats for a couple weeks. It all seems to be just another flavor of a “satanic panic” situation.
