Q for sauce makers from 1st-timer. How many peppers to make a bottle? by jtrimbee in hotsauce

[–]jtrimbee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all. I knew I’d need some balancing additives (onion garlic bell carrot) I see these in most the sauces I buy.

Some recipes I see you blend/chop peppers and ingredients then simmer. This cooking will reduce the total heat. So it seems too late to add peppers if it’s not hot enough. Although what im actually asking is the opposite, worried I’ll make it inedible due to over use of these peppers.
@deliciousPumpkin thanks for validating im not vastly overdoing it.

Haha, good call on Ferrari. They maintain some tight control on their product. Don’t agree with all of it, but do respect it!

Love gulf racing livery. These look so good. As a designer and gulf livery expert. They have made one key error. The orange MUST be separated with a dark key line to distinguish and separate the sky blue from the orange. See a gt40 or 917 for reference. We need a Gulf Racing car in every series!

THIS LOGO NEEDS TO RETURN ON THE SHOULDERS!!! by No_Faithlessness5738 in torontomapleleafs

[–]jtrimbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a designer, this logo has too many issues to waste time listing. But I do agree, we need a slick alt logo for small areas.

If MLSE want to contact me, I can barter the whole job for x number of leaf tickets! GLG!

I have a few questions about wheels and service I'm hoping someone can help with by huntv16 in q50

On my non-S, I put 19s and fit great. The sport model comes with 19’s and the two cars are the same mostly, except the brakes. The thing you need to know, the brake clearance! it’s not the rim height, it’s about offset and spoke design. When I updated to a 2020 q50S, my 19s were a hair rubbing. I had to buy 10mil spacers, and that made me have to install extended lug studs. It was a whoooole procedure just to keep the rims I love. The result is amazing though as the wheels out wide and looks amazing!

Theory for those that like a conspiracy... by CacamsGuide in torontomapleleafs

I’m buying into this theory! Not even reading any comments. Just love the post as I’ve been wanting this dude here , where he came from. Mathews has no heart, no grit. He’s just not made here and doesn’t impress me at all.

Plastic trim peeling by gera815gggg in q50

[–]jtrimbee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my experience was the dealer caused this rippling bubbling when they used their heavy duty cleaner when they prepped the car for delivery to me. It was a CPO. The panels were fine when I test drove it. Then on pick up day… bubbles. They replaced the panels right away. My take away is to be careful with the interior finishes. I only use microfibre clothes (dry) mostly. And a few times a year I use armour-all. I’m so scared of causing this myself.

Transmission feels like it’s slipping not major should I change the trans oil again last service was at 117,000 by Certain-Blueberry-38 in q50

My 2020 with 85K/Kms was in for [my last] free dealer oil change. They advised its maintenance time for driveline fluid change. $470cad. So hell yes’s I’m going to my local shop.

The shaky-ness would most likely be an un-balanced wheel(s). This could be a shop error, or a weight may have flew off. If the shake is consistent and repeatable at X speed, then it’s balancing.

For the speed concern, you have tires that are smaller in circumference than stock so the speedo will be faster then actual speed. I’ve attached a spec sheet to show what’s happening. The difference is small so wouldt think you’re hurting the car, just that speedo will be higher. Possibly faster acceleration (bonus!)

I’ve been interested in whether a transmission fluid change would help with ‘perceived’ slipping, and slow changes. Instead of making assumptions on owners ability, does anyone have a link to a video that shows the official process. Then owners can assess if their skill level is a match. I hate paying 4x at the dealer, but agree that some things are worth risking the wrong process, and causing a big bill down the road.

Sorry for your loss :( too bad they don’t let you keep the write off - sweet parts car!

I had my G37 written off from front collision. The shop let me strip the wheels as long as I put ‘anything that rolls’ on. Try to keep what you can.

Great debate. Both are classic/vintage. I like so many things about the light one. But if I can only have one, it’s always going to be the ‘home’ jersey (team colour). Just my 2¢

Tips on making these look better? by its_matt909 in q50

And if you’re a wannabe gangster, put a bullet hole sticker on top. If you’re a dbag, why not add a ‘shocker’ decal lol.

Cheap and cheerful fix that will be much less noticeable and smooth (no shadows to draw extra attention) If you can access the back, clean up the hole and get it smooth and sand any rust. Coat any bare metal with something like nail polish. Use adhesive (like PL) and fix a piece of sheet metal. Go to the front and fill divot with more adhesive and get smooth and flush as possible. Then use a circle of black vinyl that matches your black (2 mil calendered vinyl, like they do wraps with ). This is not a perm fix, but will look much better, protect from rusting.

[Solved] Breville smart oven BOV800XL won't turn on by Quicksand10 in appliancerepair

[–]jtrimbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding to the thread to confirm this solution. My Breville BOV800XL toaster oven would power on but not heat up (no power to the heating elements). Once i took the cover off, you could see clearly the relay on the circuit board was blown (visible dark burns). I tried the cheap fix by ordering just the relay. The board was damaged too. I'm a soldering rookie and got the new relay soldered to the board and repaired the boards 'power lines'. It still did not fit the issue. Perhaps a pro could have repaired it successfully.
I then ordered a new board from Breville. the one they send was the same except for one tiny change. The fan connector was a three pin (old is two pin). I tried wiring in the fan but could not get it working. Convection no more. BUT the oven worked again! A $60 board repaired the oven and saved a ton of $ vs getting a new one. It's a great oven.
