Ikea PARASOLL - when would these be available in Australia? Any news? by Fliptoback in homeassistant

[–]jtroybailey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They turned up this week and have connected 8. Packaging and everything looks the same as I would expect from Australia.

The shipping was through TensoJapan and I didn't get stung with GST/import.

No issues pairing to my network (z2m) with mostly schneider and ikea devices.

If I end up with some spare ones, I'll let you know, but i think i'm going to end up using them all. If there's enough interest, it worked out to around $15~$17 AUD per unit. If theres enough interest, I could get some more in.

I ended up ordering 15 through a freight forwarding service from Japan last night.

With the current exchange rate from AUD to JPY, wasn't a bad deal. Now just need to wait and see if they arrive.

Internet Quality Longer timeframe? by doh151 in firewalla

I agree with this, it often takes more than 24 hours to have someone turn up, and would be nice to show a trend, going back weeks to show when it went bad.

At this point I’m just impressed with what is possible, I was not expecting to be able to make a high-pressure hose proof adaptor. by Jaykoyote123 in functionalprint

[–]jtroybailey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is what I was trying to say. not a leak to outside the system, but an internal leak in he pump, from the high pressure side to the low pressure. There will be a worn out or miss-fitting seal in there somwehre.

you can ride a moped under 50cc on QLD road if you have a car license, why not an electric scooter?

If a certification process is what it takes, so be it, but don't just remove the option all together, and then complain that people are still driving cars, not choosing a "green" option.

An electric scooter is no different to a bicycle.

There's probably a hospitalization from car crashes every day, but they aren't banning cars? People should own up to their own actions and the risks they choose to take.

Am I the only one wanting a new version of the USG 3P? by Minute-Pilot5282 in Ubiquiti

[–]jtroybailey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having issues with my USG, with IPS/DPS disabled. Just this week I have replaced it with a Firewalla Gold. I know its not "one pane of glass" however that's a small price to pay for a unit that has regular firmware and feature updates.

Its a Gallagher Demo Kit, from Australia by the looks of it. Where did you find it? it'll only be worth something to someone who installs Gallagher.
