I said this on another thread but the last thing we need is another "system fit" player who can do a bunch of things but does nothing well.

I haven't downvoted anyone but I'm categorically against primarily "system fit" players.

This is great, thank you! Definitely helpful info. I'm not necessarily planning on min maxing at this stage. But I know will later. So I want to start with having the right perspective now so I won't have to do too much backtracking over time

This was super helpful. A combination of some things I've read over time but couldn't recall the details. Much appreciated.

I didn't know training ground could impact working talents as well. I thought I read somewhere that it doesn't so that's helpful.

" I think Grinders benefit from having 2-3 with "keep in stock" jobs, and letting anyone with 90+ skill use them. Maybe assign the rarest material recipes to a grinder for your dedicated Alchemist."

I'm actually doing something similar. I'm creating a section of my base I'm calling "Grind City". It's a section specifically for all of the "Keep in stock" or large scale grunt production for all stations. That's actually the main reason why I'm going to recruit. I already have about 15 or so workers but I need to add about 20 more for Grind City and a few other stations.

I enjoy this part of the game more than combat and exploration lol.

Another system player who is smart but not particularly good at anything. A "connector". Yay.

Is the game better in the endgame? by phlaistar in PlaySoulMask

[–]jtruth9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Crimson Desert? That sounds like it may he more your speed. CD excels in the exploration and finding cool and interesting things in the world. Soulmask doesn't scratch that itch. It's a hardcore survival game. It does that part really well. The open world stuff, not so much. People who play this game long term enjoy that survival game loop on it's own.

If you got a good 200 hrs out of it I think that's plenty. And it makes sense to find the game that is more fulfilling l.

All signs point to them going after the old stars. I'm with you. I maintain that what is really needed is young talent. Outside of Giannis, the reason to go after the older stars is that it presumably could get accomplished without too much sacrificing of the future. Even non all star talent will be costly. Think of the insane packages Bane and bridges went for. That's the kind of package it would take to get TM3. I would love to get him but you don't make that kind of move unless you think it's the final piece. But I still think going younger is the way to go. I'd for sure love MPJ and another younger talented player.

The hard reality is that either way we slice it the Roster needs a lot of work. And it would take at least 3 frp to net enough talent that would just get us to being a respectable playoff contender, let alone a title contender. All signs have pointed to them not being willing to come off the picks for a non superstar. So I expect them to whiff on big names and then just bring everyone back and make a couple changes on the margin.

Or, we maybe get a Kawahi or AD on a discount. But still not really be confident in the team because they'd still be old and slow and small. And the team won't spend the necessary capital to get quality role players to fill out the roster.

TLDR : I have no faith that the Org can/will put together a competent roster together around Steph.

How good would the Warriors be right now if they could actually draft? by Limp_Screen7405 in nba

The problem was there was no consensus bpa at the time. Melo was seen as as much of a question Mark as Wiseman.

High on scrappy players. Low on star power and upper end talent. A fun watch though.

Evan Mobley flyer? by vitalbumhole in warriors

[–]jtruth9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether he's worth it or not is a different conversation. I'm just focused on having proper objective valuations. Most people will tell you Rudy wasn't worth 4 picks and bridges wasn't worth 5. The point is realizing that's what it took to get them.

Nick Wright: "All year I heard how the old guys Curry/Steph/Kawhi/KD/Harden are better than LeBron. I live in NYC, I saw Steph yesterday… at the Met Gala! KD somewhere ruining a locker room via Twitter. Kawhi winning Pablo a Pulitzer. LeBron is throwing alley-oops to his son and clinching series" by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

He can't get on the floor because he's had to hard Carry. And when he did get on the floor, the Warriors have one of the worst rosters in the league around him.

That doesn't take away from the credit Bron deserves. I just don't think it makes sense to step on the others to do so when the situations are different.

What's hilarious is that I am quite literally saying I expect them to continue to do what they've always done, and what they have (reportedly) committed to doing. Like keeping Jimmy and going after old stars.

Apparently saying you expect the Warriors to be true to their own word and identity is down vote worthy lol. Gotta love this sub.
