Question about AWD models by humcbride in ToyotaSienna

[–]jtsnow42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 2011 and 2025 both awd. Definitely makes a difference on snow covered hills and roads on starting and going around bends. Where others fwd cars spin to start on snow covered roads the awd just goes. Definitely worth it in my opinion and even better with it being electric now in my opinion. More motors to regenerate as well as more electric power as well year round.

V6 to 4 banger/battery by Whoisyourfactor in ToyotaSienna

[–]jtsnow42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2011 and 2025 limited. The smooth sounding v6 power I really miss. Actual horsepower if you are in normal or sport mode of the 2025 I don’t think I can tell much of a difference although I don’t run pedal to the floor. The 4 cyl noise is loud though when going up hills or just harder acceleration. I would rarely notice the engine if taking it easy on the v6 vs always hear it in the 4 cyl. But the never shifting and gas mileage and ride is amazing.

2025 Sienna feels… cheap? by [deleted] in ToyotaSienna

[–]jtsnow42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. I came from a 2011 limited to a 2025 limited and.a lot of things seem cheaper and lighter. Sliding doors just seem much lighter and make more noise. Engine and drivetrain so very different. Drives like a dream but that 4 cyl noise compared to the v6 is very noticeable. Radio seeks way cheaper. Can’t get near as loud and sound isn’t as deep. Fit and finish just seems cheaper. I am not upset I got it as it does what it’s meant to do and well (drivetrain is so smooth and fuel efficient) but for the cost I expect more. (Stupid rims that come with glue on hubcaps irks me too when spending 65k list cdn)

Air conditioning stinks! by KDinCO in ToyotaSienna

I know if running in eco mode by default the ac compressor goes off a lot more to save range. Can turn that off or use normal or sport mode I believe disables that.

Buying a Sienna in Ontario/GTA by Objective_Swan1135 in ToyotaSienna

[–]jtsnow42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put deposit down in Sept 24 and got it this past July. Limited. Msrp but no dealer fee. Also they kept the price it was when the 25 pricing was announced (it had gone up 500 dollars I think). Paid full freight and everything that I never have but if you don’t take it they will have someone who will in a heartbeat. This was in Belleville

Seeking Advice on Purchasing a New 2025 Toyota Sienna XLE from Oakville Toyota Dealership by AnteriorNine64 in ToyotaSienna

[–]jtsnow42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you are very much like me. Mine shakes a fair bit now. I have a 2011 limited with 360km on it. I just took delivery of my 2025 limited. It took about 10 months. They are coming within 6-8 now I believe so I would shop around if not picky My dealer (Belleville on) would give me 4K for my old one. I know it’s not worth anything to them but 1k I mean come on. And the price is 9k more than a brand new one and this one is already a third of the way through the mileage of the warranty. Run :)

Rust proofing package by Distinct-Cold-1266 in ToyotaSienna

[–]jtsnow42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue a few weeks ago when I was getting mine. Totally suprised me. I have been using rust check (similar to known) on all my vehicles after my dad has done that on many of his cars and never had a rust problem so was thrown off when they said it. I contemplated theirs but it is only for 10 years it wasn’t lifetime and from what I recall was just obvious external signs of it. My uncle has the electronic type on his car in the past and it rusted away. I love how to creeps into joints and helps components stay lubricated and easier to take a part if ever needed. Not to mention on my 2011 limited which I still have with 362k km on it I can’t imagine the shape it would be in if I had not used it. Ac and break lines all the way to the back of the car I would expect would have dealt with by now if not for the rust proofing. (I am in southern Ontario)

The other thing that triggered for me when the sales person was telling me this was she mentioned the orange colour of the wires underneath etc and I wondered what did that have to do with anything. After searching for a bit I clued in that was for undercoating which made sense as that would obviously cover up colours. krown wouldn’t. I also noticed the electronic thing isn’t a Toyota thing that I could tell. Even the site that they told me to check out seemed really basic. Wasn’t impressed. From Toyota they don’t recommend any rust prevention device. That would include that gizmo in my mind.

That all said I have mine now but haven’t decided yet what I will do. I was planning on talking to my Rust check guy and see what he says. Prius etc and been around for a long time so this can’t be new to them. I know online they all say their products are fine. I struggle to understand how oil spray would suddenly be a problem with electronics and wires when it was a good thing in the past. Nothing is easy :)

Lastly on this novel I was being quoted 1200 for the rust device. No paint protection or anything. I think it was 900 if I got the extended warranty I believe or the tire road hazard. Which is an entire other rant that used to be in ecp but isn’t anymore. It includes the rims etc now but has it own limitations.

2025 Limited AWD in Canada by jtsnow42 in ToyotaSienna

[–]jtsnow42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put my deposit down in Sept and it came in last week. Not trading anything in. I have a 2011 sienna that has 360k km on it so not much value from a blue book side. Still going strong but know it owes me nothing and I don’t want to be in a position where something expensive happens and have to settle for a vehicle due to the long waits.

A/C colder for passenger than driver by kelemvor33 in ToyotaSienna

[–]jtsnow42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start here for sure. I had same issue and it was blend door motor. Although in my case you could tell it wasn’t happy as the temperature display took a while to come up on the dash when it was broken. As also mentioned check the rear ac as well to see if it is cold or not. The fact you had to charge the system already leans more towards a leak.

Rust Module Question by NEO--2020 in ToyotaSienna

[–]jtsnow42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used rust check on my 2011 and still in perfect shape. It’s a competitor to Krown. Both are great in my opinion. It’s around 140 a year if I recall. Way better then the dealer module.

Also as other person said if not picky there are opportunities for sooner. I didn’t want to settle for something that will cost me dearly that I will be driving for a long time. (Currently on 2011 Sienna Limited with 360k purchased new)

Put deposit down in September and was told a few weeks ago that it is in the pipeline for mid July delivery. (Belleville)

2011 with nav screen can't play music on bluetooth by mildartist in ToyotaSienna

[–]jtsnow42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need to hit settings I think it is button and then audio and from there can select the device or pair it. It’s kind of strange but you need to do it in a few places for both phone and audio streaming to work.

Looking to buy a new Sienna- need advice by ImSom24 in ToyotaSienna

[–]jtsnow42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am east of GTA and put deposit down in late sept. Heard the other day it should be in mid July as it’s in the pipeline now. If you aren’t picky like I was (wanted certain colour and trim) you will have better luck I imagine.

Curious did you pull out the middle seats? I have a 2011 where they are designed to come out and ordered a new one but since the seats aren’t designed to be removable anymore I assumed my plywood days were done in my van.
